Assistant Reinsurance Manager

Our client in the insurance industry is looking to fill the position of an Assistant Reinsurance Manager who will report to the Underwriting Manager.

Overall Purpose of Job

This position acts as a support unit for the underwriting department, as well as ensuring that the company is well protected through adequate reinsurance programs.

Duties and Responsibilities
  • Support individual departments with all Reinsurance-related issues
  • Review and recommend for approval Reinsurance contract wordings
  • Use the system to resolve all treaty coding issues
  • Ensure that the Company deals with reputable reinsurance companies at all times
  • Timely processing of statutory returns
  • Processing and negotiating competitive treaty renewal terms
  • Placement of facultative business. Both inward and outward
  • Preparing reinsurance reports for management
  • Ensuring timely processing of recoveries
  • Ensuring that the Company’s reinsurance programs are adequate & cost effective
  • Processing of branch credit notes and refunds
  • Processing of Insurance Premium Finance applications
  • Management of COMESA yellow cards
  • Any other duties assigned by management in line with task
Job Requirements
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Business from recognized university.
  • 5 papers in ACII or equivalent
  • 4 years relevant experience
