KCC Auditor, Procurement Officer/ Assistant, Systems/ Security Administrators Jobs in Kenya

The New Kenya Co-operative Creameries Limited is one of the leading Dairy Companies in the country re-known for its world class brands that include KCC Butter, Ghee, Cheese, Gold Crown, Safariland Powder and Mala among others. We wish to recruit dynamic and result driven professionals to fill the following positions:-

1. Assistant Information Systems Auditor.

The Job: Reporting to the Information Systems Auditor, the holder will undertake reviews of the NKCC’s ICT infrastructure and provide assurance to management on the adequacy of the system controls.

Key Responsibilities
  • Conducting regular risk assessments in the company’s Information System and ICT Infrastructure and recommending measures to mitigate them.
  • Contribute to the development of the annual Information Systems audit plan.
  • Execute Information systems Audit reviews based on annual Information Systems Audit plan.
  • Provide support to other assurance processes to ensure the overall system audit opinion is incorporated and risks identified in the underlying information systems and entire company.
  • Monitor the implementation and operation defined controls and recommendations on an ongoing basis.
  • Ensure that financial and operational audit programmers’ include sufficient and relevant information systems audit tests.
  • Ensure that the company’s automated systems and information technology are in compliance with the Company Policies and Procedures requirements
The Candidate
  • Bachelors Degree in Information Systems/Computer Science/ Computer Engineering from a recognized University.
  • Professional Qualifications in Certified Information Systems Audit (CISA) or Certified Information Security Manager (CISM)
  • CPA /ACCA will be an added advantage.
  • 1-2 years experience in Information Systems audit within an internal audit function or external audit work experience specializing in Information Systems audit from a reputable audit firm.
  • Ability to apply professional and other skills acquired in an ERP environment.
  • Good understanding of information systems controls and techniques for evaluating such controls, concept of risk and risk assessment.
  • Sufficient understanding of diverse information systems environment and architecture, software, computer operations and systems lifecycle.
  • Thorough understanding of business processes and of Network Security and controls for LAW/WAN.
  • Knowledge and experience in the use of CAATS/auditing software is desirable.
  • Detailed knowledge of information systems governance and security principles and practices.
Essential Skills
  • Excellent in written and verbal communication, numerical, analytical and report writing skills.
  • Must be proactive and innovative keeping abreast with technological advancements.
  • Working knowledge on SAP will be an added advantage.
  • Must have ability to work independently with minimum supervision and a team player with good interpersonal skills.
2. Procurement Officer

Job Purpose: 
Reporting to the Head of Procurement, the holder will follow up on the procurement of quality goods and services at competitive prices.

Primary Responsibilities:
  • Facilitating the procurement of goods and services for the company
  • Prepare requests for proposals
  • Follow up on tender documents, prepare letters of invitation to bidders to attend tender openings, facilitate tender opening sessions and Implement decisions of Tender /Procurement and Disposal committees
  • Monitoring the position of individual requisitions and expedite delivery of goods and services
  • Maintain a database of pre-qualified suppliers
  • Review contracts and liaise with the legal department on preparing service level agreements based on tender documents
  • Offer secretarial services to Procurement Committee and Disposal Committee Meetings
  • Facilitating preparation and consolidation of annual Procurement Plan in liaison with all departments
  • Preparation of Procurement reports and submission of the same to the Head of Procurement
Person Specifications
  • Academic Qualifications – Bachelors Degree in Purchasing and Supplies or its equivalent
  • Professional Qualifications – Familiarity with the Public Procurements and Disposals Act, 2005
  • Experience – 4 years and above prior experience in a similar job in a busy environment.
Skills
  • Proficiency with standard office computer applications

  • Good analytical, report writing, and Basic supervisory skills

3. Procurement Assistant

Job Purpose: 
Reporting to the Procurement Officer, the holder will provide support in the procurement of goods and services.

Primary Responsibilities:
  •  Preparing the request for quotations, sending out to pre-qualified suppliers and analyzing the quotations or tenders
  • Updating all incoming requisitions from the various locations and updating of the requisition register
  • Monitoring of stock levels with stores and other departments and taking prompt action, and expediting delivery of goods and services.
  • Preparation and Raising of Purchase Orders in ERP
  • Maintaining, filing , storage of procurement documents and the safe custody of tender documents
  • Assisting in responding to calls and correspondences on inquiries from both internal and external clients
Person Specifications
  • Academic Qualifications – Diploma in Purchasing and Supply from a recognized Institution
  • Professional Qualifications – Familiarity with the Public Procurement and Disposals Act, 2005
  • Experience- 4 year and above prior experience in a similar job in a busy environment
Skills
  • Excellent Computer literacy, Communication & Interpersonal Skills
  • Good record keeping skills and attention to detail
  • Change agility (flexible) and ability to follow through on defined tasks
4. Systems Administrator.

Reporting to the Business Applications Manager, to ensure both system and data remain operational and secure at all times.

Primary Responsibilities:
  • Ensuring that company information as well as the Privacy Laws and Policies are enforced.
  • Developing, implementing and maintaining IT security solutions including firewalls, antivirus solutions and intrusion detection/prevention systems.
  • Providing periodic reports on information security issues
  • Reviewing news systems design and major modifications for security implications prior to implementation
  • Assisting in the design and management of the business and disaster recovery plans for the enterprise
  • Collaborating in the development and maintenance of NKCC information security policy and program
  • Performing risk assessment tests on the system to ensure proper functionality
  • Install, maintain and support system and application software.
  • Make sure that the system software, operating systems and procedures conform to organization norms, values and standards
  • Create, reset, delete and maintain user accounts and passwords
  • Train all staff about the uses of various software and programs installed on the systems.
  • Perform or assist in troubleshooting, diagnosing and resolving system and application problems/errors
  • Perform usage monitoring of systems and applications ]ensure optimum system performance by monitoring system efficiency
  • Archive data daily and purge them if necessary
  • Perform basic systems security administration functions
  • Providing monitoring and primary response and intervention for information technology related security incidents and violations
  • Keep current with new security and network monitoring technologies, applicable laws and regulations
  • Plan for and respond to service outages. Communicate about any system failure to the users and update them about the possible uptime
  • Monitor and manage system resources, including COU usage, disk usage, tape backup systems
  • Perform systems backup and recovery procedures
  • Maintain system documentation and logs
  • Any other duties as assigned by the immediate supervisor
Person Specifications
  • Bachelors’ degree in Information Technology/ Computer Science or related field from a reputable Institution
  • Microsoft Certified System Engineer (MCSE/MCITP) OR related Certificate would be an advantage
  • 3 to 4 years work experience
Skills
  • Experience working with SAP Basic Module
  • Familiarity with network computer applications – WAN, LAN, E-mail Infrastructure
  • Technical knowledge of Microsoft Windows and Microsoft related applications and technologies
  • Ability to work well under pressure and meet deadlines
  • Good analytical, report writing skills
  • Good interpersonal and communication skills
5. Network / Security Administrator

Job Purpose: 
Reporting to the Business Applications Manager, to ensure maximum availability of resources for users through the administration of the network and desktop equipment, and servers as well as the telecommunication services and applications.

Primary Responsibilities:
  • Ensure LAN and IP services are operational
  • Coordinate and manage VoIP services
  • Ensuring availability of bandwidth for critical applications
  • Assisting the manager to verify monthly invoices and to make payments accordingly
  • Resolving network problems escalated by the Service Delivery
  • Facilitating the use of the video conferencing equipment
  • Exploring ways to improve effectiveness of communications among staff members
  • Maintaining proper documentation of the company’s telecommunications network and computing environment including routine system start-up and shut down
  • Designing, configuring and testing network and operating system
  • Facilitating the provision of back-up for data and assisting in disaster recovery
  • Any other duties as assigned by the immediate supervisor
Person Specifications
  • Bachelors’ degree in Information Technology/ Computer Science or related field from a reputable Institution
  • Professional Qualification in Certified Computer Network Associate (CCNA), Cisco Certified Network Professional (CCNP) or its equivalent.
  • 3 to 4 years work experience
Skills
