Medair Somaliland Nutrition Coverage Survey Terms of Reference

Purpose of the Survey
 
Medair intends to commission a survey to determine the coverage of the OTP/SFP programme in Burao, South Togdheer, El Efweyne and Cynabo using the CSAS or SQUEAC methodology
 
Objectives of the Survey:
  1. To map out both point and period coverage for the targeted areas.
  2. Identify factors affecting the uptake of OTP/SFP services in Medair targeted
  3. Develop in collaboration with Medair, WFP and UNICEF, specific recommendations to improve the uptake of OTP/SFP programmes.
  4. Transfer knowledge and skill about the chosen methodology to Medair’s nutrition team.
Consultant’s Outputs:
  • Arrange in coordination with Medair, the staff and material needed for the survey
  • Ensure all ethical and other survey clearance has been obtained from responsible offices
  • Train data collectors with the key emphasis on achieving quality and genuine data
  • Coordinate and lead the survey team throughout the survey
  • Ensure data quality while in the field and during data entry and analysis
  • Responsible for data cleaning, coding, preliminary and final report
Deliverables
  • Full report on coverage survey of nutrition intervention (OTP and SFP) for Burao, South Togdheer, Cynabo and El Efweyne districts
  • Coverage survey power-point presentation (10-15 slides)
  • Survey data base on completion of final report
Essential qualifications
 
The consultant must hold a Bachelor of Nutrition or Masters in Public Health and have had previous experience in conducting Nutrition Coverage Surveys using SQUEAC Methodology. 
Ability to train people with basic education will be highly valued.
 
Duration of the consultancy will be up to 5 weeks (4 weeks preparation and data collection and 1 week data analysis and reporting).
