Invitation to Sector Based Public Forums on Devolution at The Professional Centre

Invitation to Sector Based Public Forums on Devolution at The Professional Centre

Devolution is a key area in the constitution and marks a radical departure from the way Kenya has been governed in the past, from national to county governments.

Despite its importance, there is a lack of a clear understanding amongst Kenyans and even amongst a wide section of professionals as to what devolution portends for the country as envisaged by the constitution.

It is with this in mind that APSEA through the National Advocacy program for Governance Reforms supported by ACT! has organised a series of “Professionals Sector Based Public Forums on Devolution “ to be held at the Professional Centre from 23rd to 25th  October starting at 8:30 to 12:30 pm.

The Public Forums seek to further engage Professionals and the members of the public in this important topic of Devolution and the transition process.

The main objective of the Public Forum is

  • To continue to sensitize professionals and the public on devolution and the new governance structures
  • To receive input from professionals in the Built and Natural Environment, the Health and the Law, Finance, Governance and Administration Sectors on their role in the devolution and transition process.
The Professional Sector Based Public Forum Dates are as follows:

Management, Finance, Law & Administration Sector – Tuesday, 23rd October, 2012.

Medicine and Health Sector – Wednesday 24th October, 2012.

Built and Natural Environment Sector- Thursday- 25th October, 2012.

The Public forums are for the Professionals and the members of the public within the specific sectors listed above.
