Plan South Sudan is seeking to recruit dynamic and suitably qualified and experienced South Sudanese for the following vacant position:

Job Title: People and Culture (P&C) Coordinator

Grade: Grace C2
Tenure: One (1) year (Renewable)
Reports to: People and Culture Manager
Location: Country Office                                                    
I. Job Summary
The People and Culture Coordinator will assist the People and Culture Manager in the implementation of Human Resources systems, procedures and a wide variety of People and Culture functions for the organisation. 
This position handles the administrative responsibilities of Human Resources. 

II. Key End Results and typical Responsibilities:

  • Provide support in staff recruitment activities to ensure quality recruitment is done and delays prevented
  • Assist in the development, implementation, monitoring and evaluation of staff training and development programs to address gaps in performance and maintain an updated training data
  • Support in managing staff appraisals for quality checks and timely delivery of staff appraisals. All appraisals met requirements and documents filed and easily accessible
  • Process housing loan requests in accordance with provisions in the People and Culture Manaual
  • Manage the updating of all staff files to prevent lose of documents and easy access. Staff files updated and kept safe and accessible when needed
  • Support in organizing people centred events e.g. Family Day, that would build good working relations among staff. Annual activities organized well participated and meets objective(s)
  • Manage staff leave records so that staff take the mandatory rest and the organisation do not loose from excess leave days that staff may attempt to take
  • Support in monitoring HR annual budget to maintain spending requirements and give feedback to supervisor for decision making
  • Conduct all other human resources administration activities for the smooth flow of people and culture duties. Smooth flow of administrative duties evident at all times.
  • Ensure adherence to Plan South Sudan P&C policy and practices, consistent with global policy and compliant with local statutory and legislative requirements to avoid industrial conflicts and other malpractices.
  • Ensure gender mainstreaming and maintain gender sensitivity towards staff and Plan associate. Gender sensitivity evident in delivery of roles.
  • Maintain and update a summary of the labour law for quick reference in supporting staff understanding and compliance.
  • Support in the administeration of employee orientation/induction and blended learning programmes to support staff settle down easily and faster and make recommendations for necessary changes.
  • Perform any other duties that may be assigned from time to time to support the attainment of the organization’s goals.
III. Dealing with Problems:
  • Provide sensitization for staff to ensure compliance with policies and procedures to ensure smooth implementation of the country’s people and culture functions as per requirements of the P&C Strategy, FOB and other organizational policies and procedures
  • Participate and support in evaluation and investigation to have information on staff issues and in implementation of activities to address and promote staff retention and performance improvement
  • Analyse issues and refer to higher (P&C) Manager for approval
  • Work with minimum supervision

V. Preferred skills, competences, experience and attitude Qualification and Experience

Qualification and Experience

  • University degree in Human Resource Management, Social Sciences, Sociology and Psychology or equivalent in any related field.
  • At least 2 years’ experience in human resources management practices in a reputable organization
  • Experience in the application and administration of the relevant income tax laws
  • At least, 2 years of relevant professional experience in the operation of a human resource information system
  • Good knowledge about local labour laws.
  • Ability to work with minimum supervision
