FACES – Nyanza Voluntary Medical Male Circumcision In Charge Job in Kenya

Program Description: Family AIDS Care and Educational Services (FACES) is a collaboration between Kenya Medical Research Institute (KEMRI) and University of California, San Francisco (UCSF). It is a comprehensive HIV prevention, care and treatment program in Kenya. 
It is a rapidly expanding program. 
Due to its continued growth, the program is seeking a motivated, pro-active individual to fill the vacancy below.
 
Position: Voluntary Medical Male Circumcision In Charge 
Vacancy. No. FN 030-12
 
Location: Nyanza Province
 
Key Requirements:
  • Registered Clinical Officer or Nursing Officer
  • At least one (1) year experience actively involved in Male Circumcision activity
  • Experience in mentorship and provision of on job training in VMMC
  • Must have demonstrated leadership experience
  • Additional training in VMMC by recognized organization is required.
Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Coordinate all VMMC activities in facilities and outreaches including service provision, quality of care, SOPs development and relaying of data to the M&E and data teams in the district.
  • Provide surgeries with the help of the other surgeon (s) in the team to all clients who come to the facility for VMMC services.
  • Train and mentor all the clinical/nursing staff in the facility in VMMC services
  • Represent the program in district VMMC meetings.
  • Develop the work plan for VMMC in the respective facilities
  • Ensure proper inventory and supply management for all VMMC supplies (equipment and consumables in the facility)
  • Lead the VMMC team in supporting other programs areas in that facility whenever the VMMC department is not busy.
  • Report to FACES Nyanza, Provincial VMMC Advisor on technical issues but to the district coordinator on other program issues.
