Job Title: Fleet and Security Operations Manager

Job Purpose: The Fleet and Security Operations Manager will provide leadership expertise in providing efficient fleet services to contribute to achieving the organizations strategic objectives. 

In addition the job holder shall act as the Security Focal Person being the person responsible for offering expert advice and guidance on all security and safety related matters.

Reporting to the HR and Operations Director you will be responsible for,

  • Planning, organizing, and directing the work of the section to meet objectives with the most efficient use of personnel, facilities and equipment including vehicles.
  • Planning and organising for transfer of staff, partners, visitors, products, and parcels from one point to another.
  • Supports Fleet Management Systems including the Roadbase and GPS system.
  • Managing the department staff, including responsibility for hiring, scheduling performance management, discipline and authorization of overtime.
  • Managing Business insurance including attending planning meetings for insurance renewals and claims. Advises on Insurance procedures.
  • Developing and implementing vehicle policy and procedures.
  • Monitor operations to ensure that staff members comply with administrative policies and procedures, safety rules, and government regulations and oversee their training.
  • Preparing and submitting regular reports including, break downs, accidents, fuel usage, vehicle running cost, vehicle usage and driver performance.
  • Directing a preventive maintenance program to minimize cost, maximize use of vehicles, and be the holder of the maintenance budget.
  • Prepares and directs driver training programs for newly employed drivers as well as regular training for all the drivers.
  • Responsible for the implementation of the Safety and Security Management plan in liaison with the Safety and Security Management Team (SSEMT).
  • Managing security resources and ensuring security and risk reports are regularly submitted to the Incident Management Team.
Qualifications and Experience
  • University Graduate in Business Administration/Logistics Management or equivalent).
  • Proven experience in fleet management.
  • A diploma in Mechanical engineering or Knowledge on vehicle repairs and parts.
  • Proficiency in computer software/Databases. GPS knowledge is an added advantage.
  • Excellent communication & interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work in a challenging environment
  • High analytical skills.
  • Strong team player with high integrity.
  • Safety and Security Management Skills.
  • A valid driving license with not less than 5 years old driving experience
