KCA University Alumni Relations Officer Job in Kenya

Due to its rapid growth over the years, we are seeking to recruit a competent, dynamic and ambitious professional to fill up the following position;
 

Alumni Relations Officer
 
Division: Vice Chancellor’s Office
 
Department: Resource Mobilization and Alumni Relations
 
Reports To: Manager Resource Mobilization & Alumni Relations
 
Description: The connection between student and university exists well after graduation.
 
Managing the relationship between the institution and the graduates is the Alumni Relations Office. 
The role of the Alumni Relations Officer will be to keep alumni connected to each other and to the university, encourage and promote the professional development of alumni on an individual level, maintain alumni community awareness of the university’s developments and needs, including fundraising opportunities and achievements.
 
The Alumni Relations Officer is also responsible for bringing current students into the alumni community, so a lot of promotion work is involved.
 
Duties
  • Providing secretariat support to the Alumni Association Board e.g. organizing meetings, minute taking, record keeping,
  • Recruiting alumni and getting them to activate membership
  • Organizing networking events for alumni members
  • Providing content for alumni magazine/newsletter
  • Engaging in fundraising activities to support scholarship, research and university development
  • Promoting the alumni community to current students
  • Responsibility for the alumni website content and online communication
  • Designing benefits packages and services for alumni members internally and externally
  • Provides professional guidance and leadership to volunteers
  • Engaging department heads, faculty, staff, and volunteers in alumni relations activities
  • Any other duties as assigned by the head of department
Qualifications & Experience
  • Must be an Alumni of KCA University
  • Degree level qualification in marketing, social science or business
  • Experience in university administration and/or marketing activities is beneficial
  • At least 2 years experience in a front office position – ability to handle many clients
  • Good communication skills – both oral and written
  • Presentable individual with pleasant personality
  • Experience in event organization and coordination
  • Good computer skills – database management, power point, social media savvy, CRM system,
  • Sales experience would be an added advantage
  • Expected to work to deadlines and prioritize workloads
  • Understanding of and passion for higher education environment
  • Willing to work on weekends and evenings, and out of station as required.
