Area Sales Manager Job in Kenya

We are a leading regional based company, whose core business is to manufacture and market a wide range of beverages. Our market leading brands are in demand across Kenya, and the Eastern and Central African Region.

We are currently seeking highly motivated and experienced professionals to manage sales and distribution of these brands within defined geographic areas.

Area Sales Manager

Reporting to the Head of Sales and Distribution, the holder of this position will be charged with the responsibility of ensuring consistent, profitable growth in sales revenues through planning, deployment and management of sales personnel in locations under their jurisdiction. 
In addition, the holder of this position will manage customer relations with various stakeholders in their assigned areas.

Key Responsibilities
  • Preparing, planning and executing Area Sales Distribution and Marketing Coverage Programs;
  • Effectively implementing the Company‚Äôs distribution strategy in their regions;
  • Ensuring product visibility and branding in outlets in line with the Company standards;
  • Implementing management routines in the area; these include daily sales reports, customer lists, route coverage etc;
  • Planning and managing budgets for the assigned area;
  • Monitoring and reporting on sales against approved budget;
  • Monitoring and reporting on market developments;
  • Sales promotions and merchandising to achieve maximum product availability, visibility and awareness at area levels;
  • Managing a team of sales force (Sales Executives) to ensure achievement of set targets at territory levels;
  • Managing credit control function for the Sales Region as per Company Policy and collection of Sales
  • Debts;
  • Managing customer care in line with Company business strategy;
  • Performing any other duties that may be assigned from time to time.
Qualifications and Competencies
  • A Holder of a Business Degree from a recognised University;
  • Computer Literate;
  • An MBA in marketing will be an added advantage;
  • A high degree of strategic and commercial aptitude as well as excellent communication skills;
  • At least 5 years experience in managing a sales team in an FMCG Organization;
  • Good planner, organizer and effective decision maker;
  • Strong leadership ability;
  • Holder of a valid driving licence.
