Marketing Manager (Safari Company)

Our client, and Upmarket Safari Company based in Nairobi, is looking to recruit a Marketing Manager.

The ideal candidate MUST have experience in a similar marketing role in the safari industry. 
She/he will be in charge of supervising marketing, reservations, bookings and social media.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage and coordinate all marketing, advertising and promotional activities.
  • Analysis of customer research, current market conditions and competitor information.
  • Expand and develop marketing platforms.
  • Set up and implement reservation systems.
  • Develop and implement marketing plans and projects.
  • Implement and update the social media and website strategy.
  • Maintain and supervise agent, ground handler, media and client databases.
  • Ensure bed night occupancy remains above 3,400 bed nights per year.
  • Lead weekly Nairobi office coordination meetings.
  • Report on return on investment and key performance metrics.
  • Monitor, review and report all cash/credit accommodations & bookings each month to the director.
  • Determine, manage and deliver marketing activity within an agreed marketing budget.
  • Agree with directors on PR and market representation services overseas.
  • Develop & maintain all marketing materials.
  • Ensure representation and membership in relevant industry bodies i.e. ATTA, KATO, KTF etc.
Qualifications
  • Must have a Bachelor’s degree in marketing or a related field.
  • Must have at least 10 years of experience in similar role and in the safari industry.
  • Must be computer literate – Microsoft office & Adobe.
  • Excellent communication & organization skills.
  • Must be socially linked in, capable self starter and energetic.
  • Administration and numeracy skills.
  • Good time manager.
  • Must have a passion for safari, upmarket travel & wildlife.
Monthly gross salary: Ksh. 200,000 – 250,000/= (Approx. 2,000 – 2,500 USD) depending on experience
