The Placement Service invites applications for the following position:
Manager, Information Communications Technology – Infrastructure

1 Position
Reporting to the Deputy Chief Executive Officer, s/he will
be responsible for the management of the Placement Service’s ICT Infrastructure environment.

Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement quality guidelines and procedures
on hardware and software; - Analyse computing requirements, identify infrastructure
requirements and initiate improvements projects; - Forecast and plan future programme requirements including
modernisation and/or upgrade of existing facilities; - Manage infrastructure projects including project planning
to ensure that all activities and tasks begin and end on time; - Identify project resource requirements and ensure that
these are availed on time and utilised as per laid down plans including staffing, hardware and
software requirements; - Install, configure and maintain multiplatform systems
hardware, software and components. - Ensure effective and efficient security systems that
ensure network, systems and data security and recovery from internal and external security threats; - Develop, deploy and maintain performance monitoring and
reporting systems that provide management and technical reports for decision making and
operational support; - Coordinate, schedule and manage information systems to
meet user requirements; - Facilitate automation of all offices including
inter-office communication; - Establish a strong working relationship with external
suppliers in order to enhance productivity and manage costs; and - Manage, lead and develop staff.
Minimum Requirement
For appointment to this position, a candidate must:
- Have served in the grade of Chief Information
Communication Technology Officer for a minimum period of three (3) years or eight (8) years in
comparable and relevant position in the public or private sector three (3) of which must be in a
senior management level; - Have a Bachelor’s Degree in any of the following
disciplines: Computer Science or Information Systems or equivalent qualifications from a
recognized Institution; - Have a Master’s Degree in any of the following
disciplines: Computer Science or Information Systems or equivalent qualifications from a
recognized Institution; - Have a certificate in Corporate Governance or Senior
Management Course lasting note less than four (4) weeks from a recognized Institution; - Have demonstrated a high degree of integrity,
professional competence and ability in the administration and management of the Information
Communication Technology function as reflected in work performance and results; and - Have met the requirements of Chapter Six (6) of the
Constitution of Kenya on leadership and accountability. Applicants should have clearance
certificates from the following bodies:
- Kenya Revenue Authority;
- Ethics and Anti-Corruption Commission;
- Higher Educations Loans Board;
- A Licensed Credit Reference Bureau;
- Director of Criminal Investigation
