Our
client is a leading car dealership with a commanding market reach and
wide branch network in Nairobi, Eldoret, Nanyuki, Mombasa and Narok. 

The company has recently won a car dealership with Toyota East Africa to distribute Hino buses and trucks. 
As
such the company seeks to set up the Hino division and  is looking for
energetic, self driven enthusiastic professionals to fill the following
positions:
 
Team Leader
4 positions
 

 

Role overview: Reporting
to the General Manager, the team leader will be responsible for
leading, managing and motivating a sales team of four (4) to implement
the sales strategy and meet agreed targets. 
The
team leader will direct the team to attain every day, weekly, monthly,
quarterly, bi-annual and annual sales target and surpass expectations of
clients and management. 
The
team leader will spend time delegating tasks, negotiating workloads,
assessing performance and reporting on developments to ensure optimal
performance from the sales team as well as participating in actual
sales.

Key accountabilities
  • Overseeing the sales team performance by supporting, leading and ensuring team members achieve their sales targets;
  • Guiding and leading in earmarking and setting up sales procedure for the team;
  • Generating action plans to enhance sales  performance and productive capacity of underperforming personnel;
  • Assisting team members to intensify sales via training on sales methods;
  •  Organizing and coordinating marketing plans so as to attain sales targets as stipulated by the organization;
  •  Initiating
    and coordinating monthly, quarterly, and annual sales plan and
    strategies that will guarantee achievement of sales targets;
  • Assisting  and encouraging sales personnel to enhance achievement of personal and team target;
  • Directing
    the work of sales personnel and liaising closely with the human
    resources unit to resolve daily human resources issues including
    support, compliance with discipline and work attitude;
  • Identify
    and recommend training of  staff on contemporary sales skills  and make
    required resources available to accomplishing target objectives and
    goals;
  • Appraising performance of sales staff and recommending relevant reward or support to under achievers;
  •  Accompanying sales team members on field sales excursions to learn their challenges and offer support where necessary;
  • Identifying
    and recommending new market segments or territories to target and
    coming up with appropriate market targeting measures;
  • Ultimately responsible for the target achievement of the sales team under them.
Qualifications, skills and experience
  • Minimum diploma in Sales and Marketing or in any other business related field from an accredited body or institution;
  • Possession of a relevant degree will be an added advantage;
  • An outstanding team leadership and supervisory  experience especially in a sales environment;
  • Possession of a team player spirit and cooperative sales skills within for effective team leadership;
  • Conversant with all sales and marketing principles especially in technical sales operations;
  • Ability to direct and mentor the sales team by actively working to assist the team attain everyday sales objectives;
  • Demonstrable knowledge of sales processes, including the ability to accurately meet customer needs ;
  • Adequate proficiency in ICT  especially MS Office Suite;
  • Customer service oriented with pleasant and outgoing personality ;
  • Excellent interpersonal, presentation and communication skills ;
  • Ability to interact with clients at different levels, and establish & maintain relationships ;
  • Highly motivated person who is  independent, strong and assertive;
  • A proactive self-starter and problem solver;
  • Experience
    in the Sales and marketing especially motor vehicle sales, insurance,
    banking, technical sales or other target driven industry.
