1. Medical Officer
(1 Position)
Job Purpose: The Medical Officer will apply medical knowledge and skills to diagnosis, prevention and management of diseases.
Key Duties and Responsibilities
- Oversees clinical aspects of the clinic, professional guidance and workforce requirements.
- Monitor and provide medical care to patients visiting the staff clinic.
- Admits patients to main Hospitals or to other specialized care facilities.
- Refer patients to hospitals, to consultants or to other specialized facilities.
- Take patients notes, examine and document all findings both for legal reference and for the benefit of other medical staff.
- Give medical education; explain tests and procedures to patients.
- Organizes and facilitates overseas treatments for patients who require specialized treatment.
- Advices on procurement of medical equipment, drugs and consumables.
- Member and secretariat of the Medical Advisory Committee (MAC).
- Develop, monitor and control use of medical Budget.
- Advocating on behalf of patients and making ethical decisions.
- Maintain confidentiality and impartiality and keep up to date with medical developments, new drugs, treatments and medications, including complementary medicine.
- Deputy In-charge of the clinic staff, participates in their recruitment and performance management.
- Oversee Learning and Development Programs of clinic staff.
- Organize and participate in employee wellness programmes.
- Participate in Occupational Safety and Health and workplace program.
- Ensure Customer satisfaction.
Qualifications and Experience
- Master’s degree in Internal Medicine.
- Bachelor’s Degree in Medicine and Surgery.
- Registered with the Kenya Medical and Dentist practitioners Board with a current practicing license.
- Six (6) to ten (10) years’ post – Bachelor’s degree experience as a medical doctor in a busy health facility.
Competencies
- Knowledge of health laws and medical legislations.
- Knowledge of pharmacy policy and legislative requirements.
- Knowledge of drug supplies and management.
- A team player, open-minded, a change champion possessing excellent communication, analytical, planning, organizational and interpersonal skills.
- Mature person with a clean record, proven integrity, prudence, initiative and drive.
- Ability to think strategically with creative problem solving skills.
- Computer application skills.
2. Laboratory Technologist
(1 Position)
Job Purpose: The Laboratory Technologist will carry out patient sample analysis whilst adhering to correct laboratory procedures, health and safety guidelines.
Key Duties and Responsibilities
- Carry out sampling, testing, recording and analysing of all medical results.
- Perform laboratory tests in order to produce reliable and precise data to support scientific investigations;
- Maintain and operate standard laboratory equipment, for example centrifuges, refrigerators, pipetting machines and pH meters;
- Must have proven ability to work with highly specialized equipment especially chemistry analyzers, haematology analysers, endocrinology and tumour marker equipment, rapid based procedures etc.
- Ensure that the laboratory is well-stocked and resourced;
- Using computers and performing mathematical calculations for the preparation of graphs;
- Follow and ensure strict safety procedures and safety checks.
- Testing all lab equipment and ensure that they are functioning in the required order.
- Carry out periodic internal and external quality controls and quality assurance on laboratory performance.
- Assist in the preparation of weekly, monthly and annual reports and analytics as required by management and act when the Laboratory technologist in charge is absent.
- Keep up to date with technical developments, especially those which can save time and improve reliability; Conduct searches on identified topics relevant to the research in line with new developments in medical laboratory technology.
Qualifications and Experience
- Higher National Diploma in Medical Laboratory Sciences (those with microbiology will have an added advantage).
- Registered with the Kenya Medical Laboratory Technologists and Technicians Board (KMLTTB).
- Must have a current practising license.
- Five (5) years’ experience in a busy modern laboratory
- KCSE Mean Grade C (Plain) with C (Minus) in Mathematics/Physics, C (Plain) in Biology / Chemistry and English / Kiswahili.

3. Pharmaceutical Technologist
(1 Position)
Job Purpose: The Pharmaceutical Technologist will ensure the safe and appropriate use of drugs in the staff clinic.
Key Duties and Responsibilities
- Ensure delivery of wholesome Pharmaceutical care to all patients.
- Check prescriptions for suitability and accuracy and consult when necessary with the prescriber.
- Provide drug information to medical staff on dosages, adverse effects, appropriate dosage and any other aspects of medicines use.
- Discuss treatments with and provide information on medicines to patients.
- Ensure that medicines are stored appropriately and securely.
- Keep up-to-date with new developments in the field of pharmacy.
- Participate in the annual updating of the drug formulary.
- Participate in procurement of drugs and medical consumables.
- Preparation of individualized extemporaneous drug formulations.
- Conduct quarterly stock takes in the Pharmacy.
- Ensuring adverse events reporting and participating in Pharmaco-vigilance.
- Organizing Continuous Medical Education Meetings for Clinic Staff.
- Ensuring keeping of statutory and ethical records/registers.
- Monitoring patients on long-term medications.
- Sourcing out-of- stock drugs on prescriptions from hospitals and external pharmacies.
- Maintain surveillance on expiry dates of items in all drug stores.
- Arranging and labelling of drug shelves.
Qualifications and Experience
- Higher National Diploma in Pharmacy from an institution gazetted by the Pharmacy and Poisons Board.
- Must be enrolled with the Pharmacy and Poisons Board with a current valid practising license.
- Member of the Kenya Pharmaceutical Association.
- Five (5) years’ experience in a modern hospital pharmacy.
- KCSE Mean Grade C (Plain) with C (Plain) in Mathematics/Physics, Chemistry/Biology and English/ Kiswahili.
