Waumini Sacco Assistant Internal Auditor and Accounts Assistant Jobs in Kenya

Waumini Cooperative is a national and fast growing Sacco registered by SASRA and based in Nairobi. 
We intend to fill the positions below on 2 (two) year renewable contracts: 
1. Assistant Internal Auditor 
Main Duties and Responsibilities
  •  Assisting in formulation and implementation of the internal audit strategy to evaluate the Sacco’s operating standards 
  • Ensuring assets are safeguarded through periodic asset count 
  • Establishing compliance with established and internationally recognized management systems, administrative and personnel policies as well as procurement procedures 
  • Evaluating the financial and operational procedures of adequacy and effectiveness of internal control systems. 
  • Review loans and loan processes. 
  • Coordinating internal and external auditor’s annual and interim audits.
  • Verification of all payments and receipts made by the society
  • Review procurement and tendering processes
  • Keeping records of working papers and departmental audit report
  • Reporting functionally to the Internal Auditor 
Minimum Qualifications and Attributes
  • CPA Part II or ACCA Level II qualification 
  • A university degree in a finance related field, preferably B.com, BBA, BBM, Business Administration from a recognized university an added advantage 
  • Certificate of good conduct. 
  • Two years’ experience at the same level in a financial institution. 
  • High level of integrity
  • Good analytical, communication, organizational and interpersonal skills
  • Track record of good management and development skills
  • Knowledge of computerized accounting systems
2. Accounts Assistant
Main Duties and Responsibilities
  • Cash handling (teller) 
  • Processing payments, 
  • Processing cheques for banking 
  • Monthly Bank Reconciliations and all other reconciliations 
  • Updating Members personal Accounts. 
  • Attending to Members queries
Minimum Qualifications and Attributes
  • CPA Part II or ACCA Level II qualification
  • Certificate of good conduct
  • 2 years experience at the same level in a financial institution
  • Good analytical, communication, organizational and interpersonal skills
  • High degree of integrity
  • Track record of good management and development skills
  • Knowledge of computerized accounting systems
