Vacancy: Regional Reporting Officer

I – Objective of the role
The main mission of the Regional Reporting Officer is to assist with reporting activities on the programs based in Niger, Burkina Faso, Kenya, Somalia and Tanzania, under the authority of the Africa unit manager and in close collaboration with the desk officers, general coordinators, field coordinators and medical coordinators of the countries covered.
II – Tasks / Responsibilities
1. Improving the quality of documents submitted to the donors 
  • Provide the necessary information to the missions for the drafting of documents: formats, guidelines and donor funding strategies.
  • Make corrections and recommendations in the form of complete and compiled feedback to the missions regarding donor reports and proposals
  • Together with the administrative coordinators, ensure consistency between the narrative and financial parts of reports and proposals
  • Ensure that the indicators used are SMART 
  • Organize individual and/or group working sessions on reports if necessary/possible for better understanding and assimilation of corrective actions
  • Check the corrections made by the missions following feedback from HQ and before sending the reviewed version
2. Improving compliance with donor deadlines
  • Support the GenCos in monitoring the schedule for each document to be submitted to the donors 
  • Based on the schedules, monitor the gap between the theoretical and real dates on which documents are sent by each person involved.
3. Team capacity building: individual and group coaching and training on writing funding requests,
donor reports and donor procedures
  •  Organize individual and group working sessions on donor documents (reports and donors)
  •  Deliver training on donor procedures for the three missions
  • Encourage discussion on reporting practices and creation of donor documents
III – Requirements
  • Master degree in the following or related field: development, international relations, humanitarian management
  • Experience of writing proposals/reports
  • Demonstrated experience of coordinating and preparing strong narrative and financial reports for a variety of donors.
  • Demonstrated experience developing multiple narrative and cost proposals simultaneously
  • Experience developing and working with project budgets 
  • Understanding of various donor compliance 
  • Good personal organizational skills, including time management, ability to meet deadlines as well as working under pressure
  • Excellent level of communication both written and oral 
  • Experience in humanitarian and development context highly appreciated 
  • Capacity to work and to live in tense conditions 
  • Reactivity, anticipation, adaptability and capacity to take initiatives to changing requirements
  • Ability to work in a multi-cultural setting
  • Languages: Fluent in English and French.
