Pension Liaison Officer Job in Kenya

Mumias Sugar Limited Staff Retirement Benefits Scheme and Mumias Sugar Limited Staff Provident Fund are pension schemes for employees working for Mumias Sugar Company Limited. 
They are registered schemes with Retirement Benefits Authority (RBA). 
The Core business of the schemes is to provide pension and other retirement benefits to its members and beneficiaries. 
The Schemes are seeking to recruit a Pension Liaison Officer who will be reporting to the Board of Trustees.

Job Summary: To improve on efficiencies and in particular service delivery to members of the scheme through effective coordination between the Board of Trustees,The Scheme Administrator,The Sponsor and The Members of the Scheme.
This role is also the point of contact within the members as pertains to all administrative matters of the Scheme.

Key Duties and Responsibilities:
  • To ensure correct and up to date scheme documentation management
  • Act as a liaison between the BOT, Pension Services Providers,Members,Beneficiaries, Pensioners and other stakeholders of the scheme
  • Responsible for managing and coordinating all activities relating to the pension schemes administration within the company
  • Managing the process of member benefits processing and resolve all Members issues timely.
  • Working closely with Human Resourcesand Payroll staff, ensure required data is provided timely.
  • Working closely with service provider, ensure the Schemes are effective, comply with relevant regulations anddeliver set performance goals.
  • Facilitating Communication to members and coordinate trainings
The ideal Candidate should have:
  • An undergraduate degree in Actuarial Science, B-Com, Business Administration or any other related business field
  • At least 10 years working experience, with at least 6 years in a Senior Management Position in the Pension Industry
  • Competent IT skills
  • In addition to the above, the ideal candidate should possess:
  1. Good interpersonal and teamwork skills
  2. Good leadership skills with a high sense of maturity
  3. Good Planning, organizational, analytical and numerical skills
  4. High level of integrity, responsibility and confidentiality
  5. High senses of self drive and business acumen.
  6. Networking skills ( internal and external )
