National Individual Consultant to Develop Minimum Energy Performance Standards (MEPS)

Background: The Low Emission and Climate Resilient Development project (LECRD) is a project of the Ministry of Environment and Natural Resources with funding from USAID through UNDP. 

The project aims at supporting Kenya’s efforts to pursue long-term, transformative development as well as accelerate sustainable climate resilient economic growth, while slowing the growth of greenhouse gas emissions. 


The three year project will contribute towards the implementation of the National Climate Change Action Plan (2013- 2017) which has the overarching goal of enhancing low carbon climate resilient development in Kenya.

Objective: Under the Low Emission and Climate Resilient Development Project, the consultant is expected to provide support in the development of Minimum Energy Performance Standards.

The consultant will facilitate the development of the standards and suitable test procedures in consultation with the Energy Regulatory Commission (ERC) and other key stakeholders.

He/she will also liaise with the Ministry of Industrialisation and Enterprise Development, the Energy Regulatory Commission (ERC), UNDP and all the other partners to ensure effective conclusion of S&L project activities in Kenya.
