Position: Category Brand Manager
 
A leading integrated manufacturing concern with products covering a wide spectrum of domestic use and, with operations across the East, Central and Southern Africa region.
 
Due to market growth and desire to increase and, support brand presence; we are seeking for qualified, self-driven, innovative, energetic, go getter professional to be part of the team. 

 

Position Description: Brand custodian responsible for the products’ growth, development, marketing, communication, and sales.

Required Level: Management, with Seven (7- 10) years progressive experience; three (3) of which should be in marketing or brand management in an FMCG industry

Academic Qualification: Bachelor of Commerce (Marketing), Business Management or any other marketing related degree from a recognized university. Membership in a marketing professional bodies is an added advantage.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Take brand ownership and provide the vision, mission, goals and strategies
  • Translate brand strategies into brand plans, brand positioning and go-to-market strategies
  • Measure and report performance of all marketing campaigns, and assess against goals (ROI and KPIs).
  • Coach, monitor, evaluate and support the team.
  • Monitor market trends, research consumer markets and competitors’ activities to identify opportunities and key issues.
  • Oversee marketing and advertising activities to ensure consistency with product line strategy.
  • Monitor product distribution and consumer reactions.
  • Brainstorm new and innovative growth strategies.
  • Align the company around the brand’s direction, choices and tactics
  • Executing marketing campaigns (print, web, social media, broadcast, etc.)
  • Maintains close contact with sales, production, and distribution functions to sense business conditions and trends.
  • Briefs, monitors and evaluates marketing services agencies, e.g. Media, Creative, PR et cetera.
  • Liaises with sales and promotions management in analysing and evaluating general market and sales data on assigned brands/products, to monitor volume/business trends versus plan.
  • Analyze the brand positioning in the market and develop targeted consumers insights
  • Lead creative development and create motivating stimulus to get targeted population to “take action”
  • Establish performance specifications, cost and price parameters, market applications and sales estimates
Key Competencies:
  • Excellent Communications skills both verbal and written and good command of social media.
  • Strong management and leadership skills
  • Excellent computer skills and proficient in excel, word, outlook and access;
  • Budget development and oversight experience;
  • Strong interpersonal skills.
  • Demonstrate ability to work with advertising agencies on brand creation and management.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and ensure absolute discretion and sensitivity to privileged information and confidential matters,
  • Demonstrate a proven track-record of personal initiative, enthusiasm and ability to Multi-task.
  • Ability to lead and influence project teams
