Civil Team Leader Job in Kenya

Our client a Manufacturing entity is seeking to hire a Civil Team Leader.

Purpose Statement: Carry out civil engineering work in a manner which ensures that both professional and SHE standards are met and maintenance costs kept to a minimum.

Principal Accountabilities:

  • Plan and allocate work to staff
  • Undertake major maintenance, modifications and upgrades of civil works and provide leadership to the Works Teams
  • Supervise the work of contractors and their staff
  • Requisition materials from the stores and issue to maintenance teams
  • Continually assess the competence of the maintenance team and offer the necessary coaching support to team members
  • Ensure compliance with technical and SHE standards together with general regulations and procedures.
  • Lead, guide and train others so that all civil engineering work is done in the most effective way in terms of cost, timescale, SHE and technical viability
  • Plan and prepare for civil engineering work so that such work can be carried out in the most timely and effective way
  • May be required to prepare engineering drawings for planned work, from time to time
  • Stay abreast of technical developments and trends in the field of civil engineering
Knowledge / Skills / Experience:
  • HND in civil engineering
  • Proven experience in township and road maintenance
  • Involvement in minor civil related projects
  • At least three years’ experience in a similar role
  • Good communication, interpersonal, leadership and planning skills
