Homa Hills Community Development Organization is an intergrated organization located in North Karachuonyo district. 
Its major partners include CRS Kenya, DREAMS (Determined, Resilient Empowered Aids free, Mentored Safe) and MONSANTO research organization.
 
It is a large organization entailing different key components including enterprise unit, Aids Relief Programme, The Children behid Programme, among others.

 

HHCDO stives to empower communities living in Karachuonyo in terms of their civic responsibilities, economic independence, food security, environmental conservation, public health and HIV / AIDS prevention and care and support for a just and equitable society.

Its  overriding role is to build community capacity to facilitate sustainable development to support vulnerable groups.

Job Title: Chief Executive Officer 

1 Position

Job Location: Homa Hills CDO

Contract Period: One year with possibility of extension
 

Duties and Responsibilities
  • Implementation of organizational policy and strategy plans
  • Head the management team and be responsible for day to day management of the organization and secretary of the Board of Directors
  • Implementation of the Board Minutes
  • In consultation with the Chairman, represent and act on behalf of the organization
  • Initiate and oversee programs and projects
  • Fundraise on behalf of the organization
  • Keep full and up to date records of the organization’s affairs.
  • Initiate entrepreneurial activities; develop the farm and other enterprise lines with profit making and community service as the hallmark of the sector.
  • Identify and develop working relationship with local partners at community, governmental and NGO levels to facilitate smoothness and inclusiveness in project implementation.
Requirements: Bachelors’ degree in social science, commerce or Equivalent with evidence of financial management, leadership skills and business Savvy.

Job Title: MBC Case Managers
3 Positions

Job Location:
Homa Hills CDO

Contract Period: One year with possibility of extension

Job Objective: Reporting to the Project Coordinator, the MBC case manager will be responsible for planning, implementation and coordination of the maternal mental wellbeing component of the project. 

The component is part of the primary intervention of the operation research implemented through enhanced care groups. 
The Mothers and Babies Course (MBC) is a 12-session group based intervention aimed at preventing depression during pregnancy and the postpartum period by teaching women mood regulation skills. 

Key Responsibilities

  • Developing and coordinating implementation of the mothers and babies course (MBC) specific work plans and schedules.
  • Facilitating MBC sessions with participating mothers and pregnant women
  • Mobilizing and organizing pregnant women and women with children aged below two years (targeted caregivers) to participate in group sessions for the mothers and babies course
  • Conduct regular home visits to care group volunteers/lead mothers implementing the mothers and babies course
  • Transfer skills to CHVs and lead mothers on MBC intervention during care groups sessions and home visits
  • Conduct supportive and reflective supervision as well as coaching to care group volunteers during their home visits to neighbour women and at care group meetings
  • Conduct and facilitate monitoring activities to ensure fidelity of the intervention by care group volunteers
  • Support mobilization of targeted caregivers during data collection periods of the operation research
  • Participate in joint monitoring, progress review activities and learning sessions for the project
  • Generate regular progress reports on maternal mental wellbeing component of the project
  • Participate in regular support supervision and coaching sessions with mothers and babies course instructor based in the USA via Skype
  • Working closely with the field supervisors ensure proper integration and synergy of project activities
Requirements
  • Bachelor’s degree in clinical psychology or its equivalent; experience with cognitive behavioural therapy preferred.
  • Minimum two (2) years’ experience offering counselling services and/or psychosocial support services or in a similar position working in community based projects
  • Experience in training / facilitating, coaching and mentoring teams
  • Experience working with children and communities for development
  • Good communication and interpersonal skills
  • Good report writing and analytical skills
  • Good problem solving skills
  • Ability to engage with program participants (85 % field time)
  • Ability & willingness to ride a motor cycle when required desirable
Working Relationships: Partners coordinator, CRS PM and Coordinators, CRS MEAL STA, and International MBC instructor.
