Marketing Officer
Location: Nairobi
Our client, a leading an Investment Co-operative Society is seeking to recruit a Marketing Officer.
Key Tasks and Responsibilities
- Ensure all adverts and publications are properly drafted in accordance to set guidelines and standards as well as published within set timelines
- Conduct market research and competitor analysis regularly with the aim of determining customer needs, demands potential and improving on the organization products
- Liaise with the CEO on new innovations and how they are influencing the marketing efforts
- Reviewing the marketing materials of the organization to ensure visual impact in line with the society’s branding guidelines.
- Liaising with media and other stakeholders in the Cooperative movement as required to enhance the image of the society
- Organization of events
- Develop marketing plan geared towards members and potential members in line with the society’s strategic plan, targets and budgets

- Prepare monthly bulletin and ensure that it is sent out within the stipulated timelines
- Draft and coordinate dissemination all communication to Members and General Public.
- Achieve marketing operational objectives by contributing marketing information and recommendations to strategic plans and reviews; preparing and completing action plans; implementing production, productivity, quality, and customer-service standards identifying trends; determining system improvements; implementing change.
- Meet marketing financial objectives by forecasting requirements; preparing an annual budget; scheduling expenditures; analyzing variances; initiating corrective actions.
- Improve product marketability and profitability by researching, identifying, and capitalizing on market opportunities; improving product packaging; coordinating new product development.
- Provide information by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing data and trends.
- Update job knowledge by participating in educational opportunities; reading professional publications; maintaining personal networks; participating in professional organizations.
- Accomplish marketing and organization mission by completing related results as needed.
Professional Skills and Competencies
- Bachelor’s Degree in Marketing or an Advanced Diploma in Marketing
- Computer proficiency in computer application,
- Knowledge of the operating environment
- At least three years’ experience in a similar capacity.
- Good communication, negotiation and presentation skills.
