Job Vacancy: Sales Representative- Agricultural Products (Agronomist)
Sanergy is an award-winning social venture that builds healthy, prosperous communities by making hygienic sanitation accessible and affordable in Africa’s urban informal settlements. 
Our systems-based approach to solving the sanitation crisis involves five key steps: we build a dense network of franchised micro-entrepreneurs, who operate low-cost, high-quality waterless sanitation facilities – called Fresh Life – as small businesses. 

We provide critical support services – such as access to finance, business analytics, training, and marketing. 
We collect the waste regularly and safely remove it from the community. 
We convert the waste into valuable by-products, such as organic fertilizer and renewable energy. Finally, we sell the by-products to Kenyan farms under the brand name Farm Star.
Since November 2011, we have launched nearly 700 Fresh Life Toilets to a network of more than 300 Fresh Life Operators. We have collected and converted over 7,000 tons of waste. 
At the same time, we have built a team of over 200 people. For our work, we have been recognized by Fast Company as one of the 10 Most Innovative Companies in the World Doing Social Good and one of the 10 Most Innovative Companies in Africa.
Job Summary: We seek a highly motivated agronomist to make sales of Evergrow Organic Fertilizer and provide support to our Farm Star customers and potential customers in the office by phone, email, and social media channels.

Role & Responsibilities
  • Reach out and respond to sales leads to further them in the purchasing process.
  • Close sales from Nairobi office
  • Reach out and respond to existing clients to support their experience.
  • Build sustainable relationships of trust with existing and potential customers through open and interactive communication.
  • Use your expertise in agriculture to provide general agronomic information to existing and potential customers.
  • Provide accurate, valid and complete information (product information as well as agronomic advice) to various stakeholders by using the right methods and tools.
  • Maintain accurate and complete customer database by systematically updating account information after every interaction.
  • Maintain a clear schedule, with defined metrics for success.
  • Liaise with sales field staff team to clearly communicate sales and customer service priorities, opportunities and issues.
  • Report to management on progress and suggestions for improvement of sales and customer service process.
Requirements & Qualifications
  • Degree in an agriculture-related field from a recognized university
  • 2 years’ experience in the agriculture sector in Kenya in a sales/customer service role, preferably providing agronomic advice on agricultural inputs sales
  • Demonstrated ability in data entry with experience in using Microsoft Office and CRM systems such as Salesforce
  • Positive and collaborative attitude.
  • Excellent communication skills with high proficiency in Kiswahili and English
  • Ability to multi-task, prioritize, and manage time effectively.
  • An active listener with a deep interest in agricultural products.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced and dynamic environment.
