Our client Direct Pay Online provides online reservations payment solutions to regional Africa’s hospitality industry with global operations.

They are looking for an Airline Sales Manager to be based in Nairobi, Kenya office.

S/he will be responsible for leading Direct Pay Online airline sales and customer relationship portfolio and grow volumes within the airline market.

  • Excellent English – both written and verbal

  • Intelligent, pro-active, quick thinker accustomed to interacting with top level airline executives, commercial managers, digital managers and reservation staff
  • Technology proficient (knowledge of airline booking engines & reservations systems an advantage)
  • Reliable, trustworthy and aware of the need for integrity and compliance (internal & external)
  • Experience in activity, task and sales planning & reporting
  • Proven customer relations skills
  • Understanding of the importance of after-sales follow up and customer relationship maintenance
  • Proven track record in frontline sales and understanding of Customer Relationship Management(CRM) system management
  • Excellent face-to-face presentation skills also comfortable with Skype presentations
  • Must be very energetic and thorough
  • Confidence, enthusiasm and persuasive in nature
  • Excellent organisational skills
  • Good time-management skills

Core Skills

  • Working knowledge of airline system management & commercial aviation
  • Minimum 5 years’ background in sales comprising senior level sales experience. 3 years’ experience in should be at one or more of the following sectors:
    o Airline, Travel Agency or Technology (airline experience preferred)
  • Understanding of MS Office including Excel & Powerpoint
  • Experience with Customer Relationship Management(CRM) system for lead & pipeline planning & reporting
  • Fluent sales presenter

Job Responsibilities (How)

  • To compile & share airlines sales program under supervision of the Head of Sales, agree targets and implement the airline sales, events & customer support activity calendar
  • To execute and report on the agreed sales program
  • To follow the company sales procedures

Main Tasks (What)

  • Agree personal & market sales targets, plan, initiate and execute sale meetings
  • To manage own schedule & follow up with clients each month, face-to-face, by Skype and phone calls to generate new sales and support existing clients
  • Manage new accounts and ensure adequate after sales relationship management
  • To take the lead in dormant account reactivation and ongoing client revenue management meetings
  • To support all markets to attract and close sales with regional airlines and follow up with after sales support
  • To travel to all markets to support Regional and Country Management with Airline related sales & support opportunities & challenges
  • To oversee and participate in Customer Support activities as requested by Customer Support & Operations
