We are seeking to hire Nurse Education & Professional Development Coordinator on a nine (9) months contract.
We are looking for someone highly-motivated and willing to take a lot of initiative and with a passion for providing Quality Care.
Overall Purpose: The Nurse Education & Professional Development Coordinator will primarily be responsible for providing leadership for professional development and implementation of programs and support services that enhance the theoretical knowledge and clinical practice of the nursing / midwifery workforce.
This includes the planning and development of education and training programs that complement the development and review of policy and procedures with a strong focus on evidenced-based practice.
The incumbent will be accountable for the development, coordination and evaluation of consistent clinical practice, policies, protocols and procedures that are competency based
Duties and Responsibilities
Work requirements and tasks will be guided by the Clinical Operations department’s Standard Operating Procedures (SOP) and Protocols which are reviewed periodically; this will include
- Performs nursing practice by providing direct patient care.
- Provides leadership in the development, implementation, and evaluation of standards of practice.
- Plans and implements orientation and education programs.
- Provides leadership in the development, implementation, and evaluation of standards of practice.
- Actively participates in performance improvement programs to identify learning needs of the staff.
- Collaborates with other health care disciplines within the hospital and community to develop and implement educational programs.
- Provides consultation to nursing staff and other health care professionals.
- Maintains practice excellence by utilizing practice opportunities for own professional growth and attending educational activities as needed.
- Demonstrates professional commitment through membership in specialty organizations.
- Contributes to ongoing staff performance evaluations and to direct staff toward achieving optimum professional development as directed by the Hospital Manager, Chief Medical Office.
- Participates in program development and hospital committees, implementing the plan and providing staff training.
