Position: Hospital Catering Officer
Location: Nairobi
Nature of Job: Full time
Duties
- Deal with staff and patients’ queries in a courteous, effective and efficient manner
- Maintain confidentiality of all matters pertaining to the Hospital, staff and patients
- Prepare, deliver and serve meals, snacks and beverages to patients and staff
- Deliver and collect equipment and food
- Set and re-stock service counters, shelving units, refrigeration units and tables/trays
- Remove soiled linens and clean them
- Work closely with nursing staff, dietitians and others
- Check meals at all service points throughout the site for quality, temperature, quantity and presentation
- Ensure that all meals within your responsibility are kept safe and free from any unauthorized interference and/or health hazards such as foreign objects, etc.
- Assist the Chefs as and when required in the preparation of food for service
- Be responsible for the receipt of goods and foodstuffs when assigned to the Kitchen
- Prepare tea/coffee for service when assigned to the Wards and Restaurant
Key Qualifications and Skills
- Degree/ Diploma qualifications mostly in catering
- 1-3 Years’ experience as a catering assistant
- Health and safety knowledge
- Ability to identify hazards, risks and report the same
- Ability to work under minimal supervision
- Dedicated and committed to duty
