RTI anticipates staffing the following job position for the Tusome Early Grade Reading Activity, a donor-funded project of the Ministry of Education.
Tusome is a national literacy intervention focused on curriculum support, teacher training and teaching material development to improve the quality of early grade instruction in formal and non-formal schools through a reading intervention
Finance Specialist – Nairobi
S/he will be responsible for budgeting , financial planning and analysis and providing support in overseeing smooth accounting and tax operations of Tusome project.
S/he will be working closely with the Finance Manager in ensuring effective and efficient preparation of activity budgets, analysis of actual-vs-projected expenditures, processing of payments and allowances through project-developed software designed to integrate with Safaricom’s M-pesa system, etc.
S/he maintains regular contact with the field team in the project’s field offices throughout Kenya to ensure that the project receives support in budgeting, financial planning and analysis.
S/he will train other RTI staff in finance and other project operations support requirements.
S/he is knowledgeable about work plan implementation and scheduled technical reporting through regular interaction with the technical team.
S/he is aware of, and adheres to RTI’s and the Client’s financial, procurement and administrative procedures in all activities.
