Full Scholarship for Railway – Related Undergraduate Programme in China
China Road and Bridge Corporation (CRBC), a state-owned corporation created and organized under the laws of the People’s Republic of
China, was formally established and entered the international project contracting market in 1979, and mainly focuses on the contracting of
such projects as roads, bridges, ports, railways, airports, tunnels, water conservancy projects, municipal works and dredging works both at
home and abroad.
CRBC entered the Kenyan market in 1984, and since then have completed many famous projects such as A109 road (Voi—Mutito Andei Section), Nairobi Eastern and Northern Bypass, Nairobi Southern Bypass and Mombasa Berth No. 19. Now as a well-known corporation
in the international project field is the EPC contractor and operator of standard gauge railway (SGR).
To support local capacity building, technology transfer and availability of personnel with appropriate skills, CRBC has announced a full
scholarship training programme for 100 outstanding Kenyan students on four-year railway-related undergraduate study in China, and the study will be concentrated on majors relative to management, construction, operation and maintenance service for SGR.
Since the first batch of 25 students and second batch of 35 students are being trained well in China, the corporation is ready to start selecting the third batch of 40 students.
The scholarships which are fully funded by CRBC are aimed at developing a spectrum of technical and management skills required for SGR development and subsequent operation and maintenance.
Applications are invited from interested and qualified candidates under the age 24 years who sat for Kenya Certificate of Secondary Education (KCSE) and attained the following or above grades:
Mean = B Plain
Mathematics = B Plain
Physics = B Plain
English = B Plain
This batch of students is scheduled to start the study ¡n March 2018.

1. Kenya certificate of secondary education (KCSE) Result Slip
2. National identification card

4. Certificate of good conduct
5. Form IV school leaving certificate
6. Letter of recommendation from last school attended
7. Letter of reference from local chief
Thereafter, CRBC shall start a selecting process which comprises a written test and interviews jointly with Kenya Railways and Railway
The scholarship is to be allocated on the basis of equal opportunity.
