The Role: To be responsible and accountable for the smooth running of the company systems within the limits of requirements, specifications, costs and timelines.

Also to supervise the implementation and maintenance of the company’s computing needs.


  • Run regular checks on network and data security
  • Identify and act on opportunities to improve and update software and systems
  • Develop and implement IT policy and best practice guides for the organization
  • Design training programs and workshops for staff
  • Conduct regular system audits
  • Run and share regular operation system reports with senior staff
  • Oversee and determine timeframes for major IT projects including system updates, upgrades, migrations and outages
  • Manage and report on allocation of IT budget
  • Provide direction for IT team members
  • Identify opportunities for team training and skills advancement
  • Manage a team of staff including programmers, analysts and support specialists
  • Evaluate the functionality of systems
  • Consult computer users to ascertain needs and to ensure that facilities meet user or project requirements
  • Select and purchase appropriate hardware and software
  • Managing IT budgets
  • Ensure software licensing laws are followed
  • Implement and manage security or integrity and backup procedures
  • Schedule upgrades
  • Provide user training, support, advice and feedback
  • Test and modify systems to ensure that that they operate reliably
  • Manage secure network access for remote users
  • Keep up to date with new technology
  • Design maintenance procedures and put them into operation
  • Training new staff
  • Manage information technology and computer systems
  • Plan, organize, control and evaluate IT and electronic data operations
  • Manage IT staff by recruiting, training and coaching employees, communicating job expectations and appraising their performance
  • Design, develop, implement and coordinate systems, policies and procedures
  • Ensure security of data, network access and backup systems
  • Act in alignment with user needs and system functionality to contribute to organizational policy
  • Identify problematic areas and implement strategic solutions in time
  • Audit systems and assess their outcomes
  • Preserve assets, information security and control structures
  • Handle annual budget and ensure cost effectiveness

Qualifications and Skills

  • Degree in Information Technology, Science or Computer Science
  • Must have at least 5 years’ experience in manufacturing environment
  • Must be conversant with skilled Oracle
  • Information systems management skills are highly desirable
