RTI International is currently seeking staff for the U.S Agency for International Development (USAID) funded Kenya Youth Employment and Skills Program (K-YES) in Kenya that aims to enhance employability of Kenyan youth (Ages 18-35) for increased wage and self-employment, underemployed youth who have not completed secondary school.

K-YES project is a 5 year activity that will result in increased workforce competitiveness in the sectors targeted currently implementing in Nairobi, Kwale, Kericho Bungoma, Garissa, Kisii, West Pokot, Migori & Nyeri Counties.

We seek to recruit an Administrative Assistant to be based in Nairobi Office.

The Administrative Assistant is responsible for ensuring the smooth operation of project and office efforts and/or field activities by coordinating programmatic information and providing logistical support for specific project activities with KYES Initiative.

He/She works with the Operations Coordinator 1 and is responsible in supporting the day-to-day coordination of project-specific administrative support activities.

He /She is responsible for working with other staff to coordinate technical assistance required and to keep staff informed of the status of specific project activities.

She/he coordinates with and assists others as needed as a member of the KYES Initiative team.

The Administrative assistant will provide administrative, logistical and basic procurement support to project staff.

Ensuring that all administrative processes are compliant with RTI International policies, good business practice, client specific procurement and administrative procedures and standard operating procedures.

Required qualifications and experience:

  • A minimum of three (3) years relevant experience and a Higher Diploma in Administration or Secretarial studies; Additional qualification in office management, business management or accounting preferred.
  • Experience in logistics management, organizing workshops and meetings, preparing, monitoring budgets and petty cash management in an international organization preferred.
  • Experience within the Not for Profit sector and familiarity with USAID donor reporting requirements is preferred.
