Job Title: Design Engineer

Education / Degree: Degree in Civil Engineering
Years of Experience: 10 years including 5 years for an international company
Overview: The Senior Design Engineer shall be responsible for enabling quality and timely delivery of the required engineering components of all the firms’ projects assigned by the Project Director / Project Manager.
Specific Responsibilities and Accountabilities
- Assigning duties to the CAD Team
- Checking quality of work prepared
- Keeping track of progress and adhering to deadlines as prescribed by the Project Director / Project Manager
- Able to prepare Engineering Drawings
- Managing all Administrative Requirements (hard copies/ soft copies / Server updates)
- Management the production of the highway design (geometry, drainage, roadside amenities): technical Management and coordination of the design team formed by Design engineers and CAD technicians
- Be responsible for organization, planning, monitoring (respect of both budget and deadlines) and ensure the quality control of the tasks related to the highway design;
- Coordinate with other Design teams (Geotechnical, Structures, Environment, Buildings…), compiling the information and managing the interfaces between the different fields of expertise
- Produce design reports, Bills of Quantities, Costs Estimates and all written documents related to his activity
- Active reporting to the Project Director/Manager on progress, outstanding issues,
- Interview and section of new members to the design team
- Inducting new staff in the design team
- Data Collection and Collation
- Performing such duties as may be required by the Project Director / Project Manager from time to time
Minimum Requirements / Qualifications
- Degree in Civil Engineering
- Post graduate qualification would be advantageous
- 10 years of experience as Commercial Assistant / Business Development
- Minimum 4 years’ experience with an international engineering consulting company
- Construction background would be a plus
- Fluent in English
- French would be advantageous
- Working Knowledge of CAD programs i.e. Auto CAD, Civil CAD 3D, Project Wise, Sharepoint, BIM
- Experience in Supervision and Office Support
- A Team Player able to work under pressure and demonstrate professional coordination
- Effective interpersonal, communication and multi-tasking skills
- Decisiveness and ability to work with multiple stakeholders
