Vacant Position: Carpenter

Our client a market leader in Hospitality is urgently seeking to hire a result oriented and experienced Carpenter to undertake the responsibility for designing,   building, installing, and repairing structures, fixtures, furniture, and other items using different types of materials including wood and steel by performing the following duties;

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Follow blueprints and building plans to meet the needs of our Clients premises/Restaurants
  • Install structures and fixtures, such as windows and moulding
  • Measure, cut, or shape wood, plastic, and other materials
  • Repair or build furniture
  • Use levels, rules, plumb bobs, framing squares, and surveying equipment to ensure everything is level and secure
  • Construct building frameworks, including walls, floors, and doorframes
  • Help erect, level, and install building framework with the aid of rigging hardware and cranes
  • Inspect and replace damaged framework or other structures and fixtures
  • Ad-hoc assistance to other maintenance teams

Key Competencies & Qualifications

  • Certificate/Diploma in any Technical Course – Carpentry or Relevant field from a recognized institution will be a plus
  • Proven experience as maintenance technician
  • Working knowledge of tools, common appliances and devices
  • Manual dexterity and problem-solving skills
  • Good physical condition and strength with a willingness to work overtime
  • Thorough professional with a practical mind and attention to detail
  • Friendly with a great deal of patience
  • Ability to work in awkward spaces
