Digital Strategist Job in Kenya

We currently hiring for a Digital Strategist who will report to Senior Account Director.

Job Purpose: The job holder is responsible for achieving the client’s strategic brand and business objectives by working with account management team to provide guidance and achieve successful execution of strategies. Ensure integration of cross-functional teams to develop and evolve ideas to ensure successful project results


1. Develops unique strategies and builds upon current client strategies within the digital arena to meet/exceed objectives

2. Executes projects to be high quality, on time and cost-effective/on budget

3. Fosters timeline development and monitors progress, ensuring deadlines are met

4. Manages overall project scope and ensures staffing assumptions adhere to budget

5. Develops strong, trusting relationships between clients and agency partners, providing leadership and support during strategy, ideation, and execution

6. Manages client expectations, bringing issues/concerns to clients’ attention before they become problems, offering potential solutions, and advising of potential delivery delays

7. Manages work and professional development of assigned team

8. Works with account managers to ensure team is aligned to client requirements

9. Proactively keeps abreast of assigned clients’ marketing and media plans, and provides technological solutions including rich media, site optimization, promotional ideas, mobile, social networks, viral, etc.

10. Writes communications briefs, ensuring that creative and media are effectively integrated

11. Manages research studies that yield rich insights into consumer online behaviour and key motivational/attitudinal behaviour

12. Develops a total understanding of online target audience and mind-set modes

13. Reviews statements and estimates of work prior to client review

14. Provides campaign performance reporting and analysis

Skills and Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in a related field
  • 4 – 5 years of full-time experience in digital (digital experience required)
  • Superior communication skills, both internal and client-facing
  • Strong relationship management, organizational and project management skills
  • Ability to work effectively with a variety of internal teams and business groups, including Creative, Media and Account management
  • Ability to identify opportunities for growth and incremental opportunities with clients
  • Strong interest in technology or digital marketing
