Vacant Position: Area Sales Manager – Flour Service Business (Leader Flour Service Business East Africa)

Client: Our Client, a global, industrial solution provider for processing foods and for manufacturing advanced materials, contributing to food security and high energy efficiency is urgently seeking to recruit talented and result oriented Area Sales Manager – Flour Service Business.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for the Flour Service Business in East Africa (Profit & Loss Responsibility)
  • Market Analysis to identify market potential, competitor’s position and market opportunities for the Flour Services offerings within the company
  • Implementation and continuous developments of Flour Service best business procedure in Eastern Africa with Local Organization and suppliers (3rd Parties)
  • Definition and development of portfolio for the Flour Service Business
  • Implementation and Monitoring of Annual Marketing and Sales Activity Plan (to meet the budget) by targeting current and future accounts in the Milling and Baking Industries
  • Pricing strategy and calculation of products and services for preparation of quotes (including terms and conditions) with support from supervisors
  • Visit customers in alignment with sales departments to evaluate needs for flour correctors, bread improvers, flour fortification mixes (including micro-dosers), lab devices and other solutions
  • Attend to product-related customer complaints and coordinates relevant correction and improvement
  • Monitors and guides timely production and delivery of the orders for customers
  • Q&A responsibility for the products produced or let produce, store at our client’s premises and delivery to the customers, definition of portfolio. (Certificates, documentation)
  • Develop Opinion Lead function (thought leadership) for the Flour Service at local and international conference, fairs and customers events in alignment with MSFS1
  • Monthly Reporting and Controlling of the Business Activities to the Head of Customer Service and the Managing Director
  • Responsible for implementing the operational targets

Key Competencies & Qualifications

  • Bachelor of Science Degree in Food Science & Technology or any other relevant field from a recognized institution plus a Diploma in Sales and Marketing
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in FMCG as a Sales Manager – Flour Service Business Management role
  • Knowledge of HACCP and/or GMP
  • Good knowledge of industrial milling and baking processes food ingredients
  • Excellent business development and very strong sales skills (Added value selling)
  • Entrepreneurial – ability to be innovative, conversant with industry news and trends
  • Strong in customer management, proactive and agile
  • Ability to make sound decisions at short notice
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Knowledge of techniques and equipment’s for the production of baked goods
  • Training and consulting skills (methodology)
  • Team Player with leadership qualifications
  • Enjoys and able to sell Flour Service Solutions
  • Managing Customers and Partners
  • Willing to travel quite extensively
