Global Certification Company HR Manager Job in Nairobi, Kenya

Our Client, a Global certification company seeks to recruit a HR Manager.

He/ she will act as a partner to the Managing director of the Managing Director Kenya for all related HR matters.

Assist the Regional HR Manager – Africa to lead and model the way for HR related issues in partnership with the MD’s and Managers of each business-line in Kenya.

Specification

Customer Service (internal and external)

  • Strengthen the partnership relation with business units, developing high service level HR support
  • Proactively work on developing a “trust” in the HR function and enhance HR credibility as an adding value function by acting as a robust Business Partner to the MD’s on HR related commercial matters
  • Develop solid partnership with the Country Management Teams

Recruitment

  • Manage the recruitment process at all levels and attract best-in-class candidates
  • Ensure compliance with corporate recruitment policies & procedures, proper corporate branding and transmission of the Company Vision & Mission
  • Develop and maintain contacts with sourcing channels (agencies, job boards, universities)
  • Select and recruit adequate personnel through efficient utilization of available interviewing methodologies and tools (psychometric testing, e-recruitment)

Compensation & Benefits

  • Recommend and implement a remuneration policy and salary structure in line with the local practices and Company guidelines in conjunction with the Compensation & Benefits Manager-Africa
  • Implement Corporate Remuneration processes, such as the Annual Salary Review and the Performance Bonus process for the country and drive reward for performance as per set corporate guidelines
  • Manage the Job Evaluation process of the affiliates following the Towers Watson Methodology

Training & Development

  • Implement the Training & Development Strategy
  • Coordinate the Training & Development activity in partnership with MD’s and line management to respond to business requirements
  • Ensure the training activity is proving to be efficient through lowering of turn-over, increase efficiency of manpower, strengthening of employee engagement and harmonized corporate culture sharing

Performance Management

  • Strengthen the understanding and utilization of the Company Performance Management system with particular reference to Talent Force
  • Manage the Company performance management process in a timely and efficient manner
  • Ensure regular performance management training activities are implemented within the country and provide on-going coaching to both supervisors and employees

Organization

  • Implement HR procedures and processes in accordance to Company Group guidelines, local legislation (and unions requirements if applicable)

Social Relations

  • Nurture solid relationships with social partners and contribute to a positive image of Company in the social environment

Communication

  • Ensure regular communication of organizational and personnel related changes to all employees in Kenya

Budget Management

  • Prepare the HR department’s budget and provide support to manpower budget for other departments as per the new finance budget regulations

Team Management

  • Lead, coach and develop the Human Resources teams to deliver quality HR services to support business operations
  • Identify and promote future HR professionals in the country

Safety and Integrity

  • Adopt, at all times, an awareness of Safety by exercising due regard for the health and safety of SGS employees in line with Company policies and procedures
  • Comply, at all times, with Company Code of Integrity and Professional Conduct to support business

HRIS

  • Lead local deployments and support of the HRIS Program modules in conjunction with the HRIS Manager Africa
  • Collect Kenya needs across the HRIS streams and escalate to the HRIS Stream Leader
  • Serve as an Expert in the use of HRIS in Kenya
  • Act as the interface between the HRIS Stream Leader and the local HR teams
  • Support the deployment plan owned by the different HRIS Stream Leaders
  • Work on aggregating country specific HRIS solutions under the Global HRIS umbrella
  • Support the development, maintenance and delivery of regular reports and statistics out of the HRIS system to allow the efficient use of employee data for the Company management teams
  • Work with large amounts of HR metrics including facts, figures, and number crunching(payroll, time management, employee records, benefits data and more).
  • Analyze data and interpret statistics to provide an overview of findings in a manner beneficial to the Company management teams.

Requirements

Education

♣ Bachelor’s Degree in HR or related field

♣ 6 years HR Exec experience as a Head of HR for a medium to large size company and cross border HR experience in East Africa

Experience

♣ Graduate level studies in HR, Business, Management, or related field. Minimum 5-8 years

♣ HR experience in a management capacity at a senior level
