Background Information: Katiko Beach Management Unit is a fishermen’s group informally started in 2011. The group was fully registered with the ministry of fisheries development as BMU under the fisheries act (Cap378) and issued with a certificate of registration dated march 2011.

The main purpose of KATIKO BMU is to fight poverty in rural and marginalized communities in Turkana County by empowering its members through the implementation of sustainable development projects.

KATIKO would like to reduce the vulnerability of its members and increase their incomes through improved and expanded fish production and marketing.

KATIKO BMU has been receiving finance from United States African Development Foundation (USADF) towards the procurement of solar system.

  • 250 W Amerisolar PV panel – 8
  • 60A 24V Morning star solar charge controller – 1
  • 26000W Magnum solar inverter – 1
  • 220 AH, 12 V, Rolls sealed solar batteries – 8
  • Assorted Cables for wiring from solar panels to control an inverter consume unit – 1
  • Electrical Accessories and solar frames for roofing mounting – 1
  • Installation – 1

Bidders may bid for above item.

KATIKO BMU invites qualified and experience firms to indicate there interest providing the items above and should meet the following minimum requirements

  • Duly registered firm under cap486 companies act of Kenya
  • Tax registration details
  • Tax Compliance certificate
  • Proof of physical address
  • Business Permit
  • Experience in similar works with USADF funded BMUS
  • Must be willing to be paid one month after successful completion of the work and certified by the board who can hire an external person experienced in solar installation to help in assessing the quality of work done.

The vendor will only be paid full amount one month after successful completion of work and approved by Katiko board for quality and functionality.

The bidders should send sealed quotations with the above supporting documents in Hard or Soft copy to the following contacts on or before 5.00 pm 16th July, 2018.
