Sales & Marketing Manager Job in Kenya

Our client is one of the leading Manufacturer of consumer goods in Kenya.

They’re looking to fill in the role of a Sales & Marketing Manager who will take ownership of the brands and drive sales nationally.

The Marketing Manager will drive the commercial and strategic objectives of the organization as well as developing and executing effective go-to-market strategies.

This is a very interesting and creative opportunity in a supportive, learning environment and would suit someone with a strong marketing background who is passionate and has up to date knowledge of cutting edge marketing techniques.

The ideal candidate will be a market execution superstar with working knowledge of both modern and general trade as well urban and rural marketing strategies.

Responsibilities

  • Take full ownership of sales and marketing agenda to achieve the company’s revenue growth objectives.
  • Manage a complex network of regional teams and independent sales consultants with clear sales deliverables.
  • Do market research, identify target customers and recommend the strategy necessary to obtain business.
  • Manage independent sales representatives and ensure they perform in the best interest of the company by achieve desired results. Make changes as necessary.
    advise the accounting department of any changes to the customer pricing or programme as they occur
  • Studying competitors’ products and services hence exploring ways of improving existing products to increase profitability.
  • Monitoring and analyzing market trends, identifying target markets and communicating with them.
  • Preparing and managing market plans and budgets and producing reports to monitor results.
  • Liaising with other internal departments such as sales and distribution, managing the production of promotional material.
  • Introduce new products to market and their pricing
  • Maintain professional knowledge, establish personal network by attending educational workshops
  • Identify target market, communicate with various buyers and advertisement agencies and analyse a products performance in the market and ways to improve it.
  • Manage a lean budget to achieve outstanding results.

Qualifications and Experience

  • 5 – 7 years’ experience in a sales & marketing role
  • Working knowledge of marketing strategies in a fiercely competitive commodity market
  • B-Com Marketing degree or any other related qualification
  • Deep knowledge of both Modern trade and general/traditional trade channels
  • Experience in managing marketing at national level a plus
  • Rich database of existing modern and general trade clients in Kenya a plus
  • Conversant with modern trends and changing landscape in FMCG Market in Kenya and East Africa.
