Academic Registrar

Reporting to the DVC Academic Affairs, the Academic Registrar will be the head of the University’s academic administration, and in this role to be accountable and have overall responsibility for the academic administration of the University, for the student records, for certification and for all systems supporting student recruitment, admission, registration and examination.

Additionally, the Registrar will be accountable, and have overall responsibility for all legal matters across the university and in the name of the University for instituting and defending legal action, in order to ensure that the University’s interests are protected at all times.

In this capacity the Registrar plans, organizes, directs, controls, reviews and oversees the interpretation and implementation of ANU policies and legislation.

Key role purpose and principal accountabilities include:

  • Overall responsibility for the academic administration of the University,
  • Overall responsibility for the student records for certification and for all systems supporting student recruitment, admission, registration and examination.
  • Planning, organizing, directing, controlling, reviewing and overseeing the interpretation and implementation of ANU policies and legislation.
  • Develop and implement sound systems, procedures and standards for management of examinations including setting, administration and marks management.

The ideal candidate should meet the following minimum requirements

  • A Ph.D. degree in a relevant field, with least eight (8) years of relevant working experience in a senior academic role.

OR

  • An MSc/MA or equivalent professional qualification with ten (10) years of relevant senior management working experience in a Registrar’s Office.

Remuneration: The successful candidate will be offered a competitive remuneration package within the market pay for the higher education sector.
