Position: Line Cook
Location: Nairobi (Kilimani or Westlands)

Our client is a gourmet burger restaurant founded in 2016 specializing in African influenced burgers, sides and drinks is looking to recruit a Line Cook.
Responsibilities and Duties
- Setting up workstations with all needed ingredients and cooking equipment
- Preparing ingredients to use in cooking (chopping and peeling vegetables, making beef patties etc.)
- Cooking food with various utensils or grillers
- Check food while cooking to stir or turn
- Flexible to help with morning prep
- Ensure great presentation by dressing dishes before they are served
- Keep a sanitized and orderly environment in the kitchen
- Ensure all food and other items are stored properly
- Check quality of ingredients
- Stock take and handovers
- Monitor stock and alert Kitchen Supervisor of any shortages
Requirements
- Diploma or equivalent; Diploma from a culinary school will be an advantage
- Minimum experience of 1 year as a cook.
- Proven experience as cook
- Experience in using cutting tools, cookware
- Knowledge of various cooking procedures and methods (grilling, baking, boiling etc.)
- Ability to follow all sanitation ad health and hygiene procedures
- Ability to take criticism positively and make changes to practice accordingly
- Ability to work in a team
- Very good communication skills
- Excellent physical condition and stamina
