Designated Immigrant Officer Job Vacancy – High Commission of Canada to Kenya

The High Commission of Canada to Kenya is hiring an indeterminate Designated Immigrant Officer (DIO).

The successful candidate will initially be appointed to a developmental position and will be promoted to the DIO level only upon successful completion of the mandatory, in-Canada training and examination.

The Officer will make decisions on approving, granting, rejecting or refusing applications for permanent or temporary resident entry to Canada; conduct interviews; participate in recruitment activities; prepare reports and correspondence.


Language: Proficiency in English – (reading, writing, comprehension and speaking)

Education: Bachelor’s Degree from a recognized university in any discipline

Experience: Recent and extensive* work experience in an office environment; a minimum of two years of work experience using knowledge of regulations, legislation, or other rules or guidelines to analyse cases and make recommendations/decisions: experience working in a client-service environment.

*Recent and extensive experience means five years experience within the past seven years.
