Organizational Setting
The main aim of the FAO country offices, which are headed by an FAO Representative, is to assist governments to develop policies, programmes and projects to achieve food security and to reduce
hunger and malnutrition, to help develop the agricultural, fisheries and forestry sectors, and to use their environmental and natural resources in a sustainable manner.
The position is located in the FAO Representation in Kenya
Reporting Lines
The Intergrated Innovative Food Systems Expert will work under the overall supervision of FAOR and direct supervision of the Sub Programme Team Leader for Strengthening inclusive value chains.
Technical Focus
The general objective of this assignment is to serve as the technical focal point for implementation of the Integrated actions for innovative food systems across rural-urban communities’ project.
Through the implementation, it is expected that the project will ultimately achieve the goal of improving access and availability of safe, healthy and nutritious food for rural and urban populations through promoting food systems innovation, entrepreneurship, fostering food systems related job activities for vulnerable groups and strengthening the urban-rural linkages.
