General Manager Job Vacancy in the Kenyan Healthy Living Sector


Our client in the Healthy Living sector is seeking to recruit a General Manager.

Role Objective: The General Manager is responsible for managing all aspects of the hotel to ensure an efficient smooth and profitable operation.


  • Recruit, select, trains and manages employees to deliver superior services and quality products that will lead to maximizing revenue and profitability goals
  • Create and maintain customer-driven operations by empowering hotel staff to excel in superior customer care
  • Develop, recommend, implement, and manage the hotel’s annual budget and long-term business plan
  • Achieve budgeted sales and maximum profitability
  • Create new programs in response to market conditions and revenue opportunities
  • Protects the hotel’s financial assets by properly administering policies and procedures for handling cash, credit cards, accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll and all other financial transactions
  • Properly administers policies and procedures for protecting the safety of guests and employees
  • Audit daily reports and process monthly paperwork
  • Ensure regular assessment and review of all hotel personnel by appropriate management of staff
  • Coordinate internal training and development programs
  • Maintains a high personal visibility throughout the property and throughout the community
  • Maintain a high level of skill and industry knowledge through continuous education by attending quarterly or annual meetings when necessary
  • Manage the inventory of for sale items
  • Order supplies and equipment as needed and in accordance with company procedures
  • Maintain the hotel property, both inside and outside, to the highest standards of cleanliness including inspecting guest’s rooms, public access areas and outside grounds
  • Know and lead the property’s emergency procedures and all safety and security processes
  • Monitor results of all guest service comment sources. Take appropriate corrective actions and respond in a timely manner
  • Maintain guest satisfaction by answering patrons’ complaints and resolving problems to guest specifications
  • Handle and resolve employee issues
  • Other duties as assigned


  • Bachelor’s degree in Hotel / Restaurant Management or related field
  • An Master in Business Administration (MBA) will be an added advantage
  • Minimum of 5 years supervisory experience with demonstrated leadership success in the hotel industry
  • Strong leadership skills and a professional image
  • Strong interpersonal, written and verbal communication skills
  • Excellent decision-making ability and analytical skills
  • Knowledge of a variety of computer software applications
  • Ability to work in a flexible schedule, including weekends and holidays
  • Ability to sit, stand or walk for long periods of time.
