Water Company Technical Manager Job in Central Kenya

A water company in Central Kenya is looking for an individual to fill the below position.

Job Title: Technical Manager

Job Reports To: Managing Director

Duties and Responsibilities

a. Directing, coordinating, controlling, monitoring and managing the company’s technical operations and ensuring good operations and maintenance of infrastructure for quality water and sanitation services

b. Designing ail projects to be undertaken by the company

c. Ensuring that the water is treated and that the quality meets WHO standards

d. Ensuring that Unaccounted For Water (UFW) / Non Revenue Water is reduced to acceptable levels

e. Ensuring proper management of the technical assets

f. Developing departmental strategies, targets, policies, procedures and plans to facilitate achievement of overall company’s objectives

g. Taking responsibility for training, development and motivation of the departmental staff

h. Ensuring that the needs of the customer are effectively met

i. Any other duties allocated by the Managing Director


  • Minimum HND Civil/Water Engineering from a reputable institution. Those registered with professional bodies will have an added advantage
  • Minimum of five (5) years and relevant post qualification working experience in a busy water sector institution, three of which must be in a senior position
  • Have demonstrated ability to manager water and sanitation utilities with sound innovations
  • Ability to work unsupervised and on own initiative
  • Good report writing, communication skills and team player
  • Conversant with the Public Procurement and Disposal Act 2005 and Disposal Regulations 2006
  • Computer literate
