Job Title: Regional Manager – Central Region

Division / Department: Underwriting & Business Development

Immediate Supervisor: AGM – Underwriting & BD

Overall Responsibility: The position is responsible for executing the underwriting & Business development strategy within the defined region, monitoring performance of the region and implementing corrective action in line with the defined matrices and responsible for overall relationship management across all channels within the region in order to achieve Profitable Growth.

Key Tasks, Duties and Responsibilities

Focus Area and Key Tasks

GWP

  • Responsible for the growth of regional top line to the set targets through retention, generic growth and acquisition of new business

KOIL Brand & Products Penetration

  • Acquiring and developing new key accounts and strategic partnerships
  • Reactivating and selling to dormant accounts
  • Leading in development of business partners profit story
  • Monitoring the KOIL brand performance within the region and ensuring increased brand reputation / visibility and
  • Correct positioning of KOIL products

Customer Experience

  • Ensure clients are constantly updated on claims process and progress.
  • Ensure top notch customer experience is provided to all business partners in the region
  • Ensuring training and increased uptake of all automation initiatives by business partners
  • Develop, negotiate and ensure sign up of Service Level Agreements with channel partners and ensure consistent compliance by all parties
  • Ensure proper documentation of Policy Terms and timely delivery of Policy Documents, Renewal Confirmations and Endorsements

Cash

  • Ensuring compliance with the Company’s credit policy
  • Support in collecting revenue from key accounts

Loss Ratio

  • Drive quality of business through proper risk assessment, pricing and monitoring of customer portfolio performance
  • Enforcing adherence to underwriting standards within the region

Product Mix

  • Responsible for obtaining and providing the correct marketing intelligence to inform product development/customization and pricing
  • Initiating partnerships to drive profitable products with key partners with a highly attractive “ Profit Story “

Marketing

  • Planning and executing marketing drives in the region
  • Coordinating with Marketing department to deliver market place initiatives and activities

Organization Development

  • Recruit, train, develop and retain staff in their regions
  • Manages relationship managers and officers performance
  • Proactively engage the GM during the Annual Business
  • Planning Rounds by making recommendations on the business strategy and financial budgets
  • Grow relationship officers to achieve carrier growth within the organization through ‘stellar’ performance

Requirements

  • A bachelor’s degree in business related course (Insurance Option, Marketing, Business Administration, and Finance) or equivalent from a recognized university.
  • ACII or local equivalent (AIIK) or equivalent experience
  • 8 (Eight) years’ insurance experience, 3 (three) of which should be as Branch Manager or Sales Manager
