Vacant Position: Maintenance Engineer – Plastics Manufacturing

Our client, a successful and leading plastics manufacturing company is urgently looking to recruit a versatile, enthusiastic and well organized Maintenance Engineer with a plastic injection moulding machine background.
The successful candidate will directly be responsible for the preventative maintenance and repair of production and/or facilities equipment by performing the following duties;
Essential Duties & Responsibilities:
Lead various technical tasks associated with molding machines, ancillary equipment, tooling, vision systems and measurement equipment, providing tactical support for day-to-day manufacturing operations
Identify, initiate, and lead projects to improve: process safety, quality, service, cost, capacity, and productivity through Lean Six Sigma methodologies
Work closely with division personnel to validate new processes with high process capability
Collaborate with production and maintenance teams to resolve and improve equipment downtime issues
Create and update standard work, operating procedures, and test methods
Respond to quality issues and audit findings with thorough root cause analysis and highly effective corrective actions
Consults with outside vendors regarding replacement components and repairs needed to equipment and machines
Maintain and supports the Preventative Maintenance programs for all types of machines and equipment, including program design and approval, schedule, meeting manufacturing schedules and equipment specifications
Read blue prints, ladder logic, electrical, hydraulic and pneumatic schematics to trouble shoot machines. Make modifications to prints when needed
Willingness to be on-call
Any other duties as assigned
Key Competencies & Qualifications:
Bachelors in Mechatronics Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Plastics Moulding Engineering or any other related field from a recognized institution
Minimum 8 – 10 years of experience in Plastic Manufacturing Industry, 5 years of which must be managerial capacity
Experience performing corrective and preventive maintenance on plastic injection machines and associated equipment in an industrial manufacturing production setting
Experience reading and interpreting electrical, mechanical, hydraulic and pneumatic schematics and blueprints
Track record of successful hands-on involvement with manufacturing and support team members
Motivated to excel in a fast paced environment
Able to troubleshoot and problem solve independently
Ability to learn new skills and expand technical knowledge
Able to function effectively in a team based environment
Ability to prioritize, multi-task and remain flexible to changes; responds with a sense of urgency
Ability to conceptualize and implement solutions to basic manufacturing problems
