Our client is an investment holding company in Africa.
They seek to hire a Chief Financial Officer who will manage the Organization’s financial operations, including the implementation of strategies and establishment of goals to achieve growth, profit, operational efficiency and customer service objectives.
Responsibilities
- Coordinate periodic statutory examinations
- Financial Policy Formulation
- Coordinate the preparation of accounts, profitability reports, expense reports and the analysis and assessment of each profit/cost center and total organization
- Ensure the organization’s asset/ liability position is efficiently managed
- Ensure that periodic statutory returns are prepared and sent to regulatory authorities
- Manage the budgetary process to ensure compliance with statutory regulations
- Monitor the organization’s financial position to ensure compliance with the organization and statutory requirements
- Monitor / control organization-wide costs position
- Drive the company’s financial planning
- Perform risk management by analyzing the organization’s liabilities and investments
- Decide on investment strategies by considering cash and liquidity risks
- Control and evaluate the organization’s fundraising plans and capital structure
- Ensure cash flow is appropriate for the organization’s operations
- Oversee financial planning to optimize returns on investments and co-ordinate annual tax computation /returns
- Plan and coordinate the activities of statutory examiners
- Report contravention of statutory regulations to the Board
- Respond to Audit/ Examination reports
- Seek equity financing from investors to finance short and long-term needs of the organization.
- Perform other duties as assigned by the CCE
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in finance or equivalent
- Master’s degree or its equivalent e.g. MBA, MSC
- Professional chartered accounting certification- CFA, ACA, ACCA.
- Good understanding of Accounting, Banking, Oil & Gas, Properties, Health Care, Tax and regulatory issues
- Book keeping and organizational administration knowledge
- Conversant with IFRS Basel II & IFRS Standards especially IFRS 9
- Financial statements preparation and reporting knowledge
- Good leadership, numerical, analytical, Problem solving, credit analysis , appraisal skills
- Strategic Focus
- Sociable with good interpersonal skills
- Good written and oral communication skills
- Good presentation skill
- Organization and coordination skills
- Above average IT exposure (good knowledge of Excel , Word, and PowerPoint)
- Performance driven
