Position: Programme Officer (EARC) FTC 2 Years

Location: Homa Bay County

Contract: 2 year fixed term contract

Sightsavers has an exciting new opportunity for an experienced Programme Officer to join our Kenya Country Office.

As programme officer, you will be responsible for overall project delivery and will manage the daily activities and execution of the DfID funded Disability Inclusive Development EARC project.

You will ensure that the programme is planned, implemented, coordinated, monitored, evaluated, financially managed and documented to the highest possible standards.

You will work closely with internal and external partners and teams to build effective partnerships, promote shared learning and advocate Sightsavers work.

The ideal candidate will be self-motivated with proven experience and knowledge on education for learners with disabilities.

The successful application will have a bachelor’s degree or above in education, development studies or any other relevant social science, be familiar with national legislation and policies in the field of disability, human rights
and education.

He/she must have experience of designing, managing and carrying out advocacy work for social inclusion/disability programmes and a background of providing technical assistance to other organizations.

Knowledge of current issues and best practices in disability, UNCRPD, legislation and framework on education is desirable.
