Senior Supply Chain Management Officer Job in Kenya

Our client is seeking to recruit a suitably qualified, experienced, result-oriented and highly motivated Kenyan citizen to fill the following vacant position:

Senior Supply Chain Management Officer

Grade 5

Permanent & Pensionable Terms

Reporting to the Principal Supply Chain Management Officer, the officer will be responsible for providing advisory services on procurement, inventory management and disposal matters while ensuring that goods, works and services are economically available to the organization in an economical way.

Key Responsibilities

  1. Sourcing for goods, works and services as per the procurement law;
  2. Raising purchase orders for goods and services and forward for approval;
  3. Liaising with suppliers to ensure timely delivery of goods and services;
  4. Maintaining and update a list of prequalified suppliers:
  5. Assisting In undertaking market surveys to inform decision making
  6. Participating in the opening and evaluation of tenders and quotations;
  7. Maintaining procurement activities register, tender and quotation registers;
  8. Implementing measures to enhance efficiency and effectiveness ¡n procurement and stores management;
  9. Carrying out annual and periodic stock taking
  10. Setting up accurate Inventory control systems so as to maintain optimum stock levels:
  11. Maintaining Inventory In good condition for continual usage;
  12. Advising and employing best storage methods;
  13. Maintaining and updating all Inventory records;
  14. Receipting of all inventory and raising inventory receipt documents;
  15. Initiating documentation for payment of suppliers for services rendered: and
  16. Maintaining register of return stores and lists of items awaiting disposal.

Qualifications & Skills Required

  1. At least (4) years relevant work experience;
  2. A Bachelor’s degree ¡n Procurement and Logistics Management. Commerce. Business Administration (Supplies Management Option) or equivalent qualification from a recognized institution; OR Bachelor’s degree and a Post Graduate Diploma in Supply Chain Management from a recognized Institution
  3. A Masters degree in Procurement and Logistics Management. Commerce, Business Administration (Supplies Management Option) or equivalent qualification from a recognized institution; is an added advantage
  4. Valid Practicing license from Kenya Institute of Supplies Management (KISM);
  5. Membership of Kenya Institute of Supplies Management in good standing
  6. Certificate in supervisory course lasting not less than two (2) weeks
  7. Be proficient in computer applications
  8. Demonstrated results in work performance
  9. Fulfilled the requirements of Chapter Six of the Constitution.
  10. Analytical skills;
  11. Excellent and communication and reporting skills;
  12. Mentoring. coaching and leadership skills:
  13. Interpersonal and negotiation skills;
  14. Team player; and
  15. Strategic thinking

Mandatory Requirements

  3. Valid Practicing license from Kenya Institute of Supplies Management (KISM);
  4. Copies of academic and professional certificates
  5. Copy of National Identification Card or Passport
  6. Valid Certificate of Good Conduct from the Directorate of Criminal Investigations
  7. Valid Clearance Certificate from Higher Education Loans Board (HELB)
  8. Valid Tax Compliance Certificate from Kenya Revenue Authority (KRA)
  9. Current Clearance from the Ethics and Anti-Corruption Commission (EACC); and
  10. Current Report from an approved Credit Reference Bureau (CRB).
