The County Assembly Service Board seeks to recruit suitable candidates to fill the following job position:

Internal Auditor II


Reporting to Senior Internal Auditor.

Duties and Responsibilities

(i) Supervises junior auditors to ensure compliance with audit programs;

(ii) Prepares audit programs to guide the junior auditors in the audit exercise;

(iii) Carry out a peer review of the audit observations and reports made/done by other auditors;

(iv) Audit of payments for supporting documents, correct account charge, as well as accurate measurements;

(v) Evaluation of internal controls in order to assess the levels of risk to guide audit plans and decision making;

(vi) Evaluate effectiveness of existing financial regulations and general internal controls systems;

(vii) Undertake specific assignments and submit observations in a report supported by documentation;

(viii) Daily cashbook checks for completeness of entries, appropriateness of expenditures and accuracy of balances;

(ix) Carry out compliance testing to determine compliance with the existing rules and regulations; and,

(x) Any other duty as may be assigned by the supervisor.

Requirements for Appointment

(i) Served for a minimum period of three (3) years as Internal Auditor III (CAKSB 6), in possession of CPA K Finalist. Holder of Bachelor of Commerce, Account or Finance option.

(ii) Demonstrate capabilities and a high degree of competence in conducting and supervising both financial and management audit;

(iii) Should be a member of the institute of internal auditors(IIA) or ICPAK; and,

(iv) Relevant education, experience and knowledge as determined by the CAKSB.

  • In addition, interested applicants should submit certificates of clearance from the Ethics & Anti-corruption Commission, Higher Education Loans Board, Kenya Revenue Authority and Certificate of Good Conduct as part of compliance with Chapter Six of the Constitution of Kenya.
