Parliament Artisans (Electrical, Mechanical, Carpentry & Masonry) Jobs in Kenya

The Parliamentary Service Commission wishes to recruit energetic and results-oriented individuals to fill the following vacancies:

Senior Charge Hand (Electrical)

PSC Scale: PSC 7

1 Position

V/No: 17/2020

(a) Duties and Responsibilities

Officers at this level will supervise repairs of buildings, plant and equipment and painting as performed by other Artisans.

They will be responsible for Planning / drawing of what is to be constructed, building / fabrication of what has been designed and fixing of what is damaged, broken, or not working properly.

(b) Requirements for Appointment

(i) A Diploma in Technical training from a recognized Institution;

(ii) Served as Charge Hand PSC 6 or its equivalent for at least three (3) years; and

(iii) Shown merit and ability as reflected in work performance and results.

Charge Hand (Mechanical)

PSC Scale: PSC 6

1 Position

V/No: 18/2020

An officer at this level will be responsible for repairs and painting of buildings, plant and equipment under the guidance of a senior officer.

(b) Requirements for Appointment

For appointment to the grade of Charge Hand, a candidate must have: –

(i) Kenya Certificate of Secondary Education (KCSE) mean grade D+ (plus) or its equivalent with at least a D (plain) in Mathematics, English, Physics and Kiswahili; and

(ii) A certificate in Technical training from a recognized Institution;

(iii) Served as Artisan I PSC 5 or its equivalent for at least three (3) years; and

(iv) Shown merit and ability as reflected in work performance and results.

Artisan I (Electrical)

PSC Scale: PSC 5

1 Position

V/No: 19/2020

(a) Duties and Responsibilities

An officer at this level will be responsible for repairs and painting of buildings, plant and equipment under the guidance of a senior officer.

(b) Requirements for Appointment

For appointment to the grade of Artisan I, a candidate must have: –

(i) Kenya Certificate of Secondary Education (KCSE) mean grade D+ (plus) or its equivalent with at least a D (plain) in Mathematics, English, Physics and Kiswahili; and

(ii) A certificate in Technical training from a recognized Institution;

(iii) Served as Artisan II PSC 4 or its equivalent for at least three (3) years ;and

(iv) Shown merit and ability as reflected in work performance and results.

Artisan I (Building Works – Carpenter)

PSC Scale: PSC 5

1 Position

V/No: 20/2020

(a) Duties and Responsibilities

An officer at this level will be responsible for repairs and painting of buildings, plant and equipment under the guidance of a senior officer.

(b) Requirements for Appointment

For appointment to the grade of Artisan I, a candidate must have: –

(i) Kenya Certificate of Secondary Education (KCSE) mean grade D+ (plus) or its equivalent with at least a D (plain) in Mathematics, English, Physics and Kiswahili; and

(ii) A certificate in Technical training from a recognized Institution;

(iii) Served as Artisan II PSC 4 or its equivalent for at least three (3) years; and

(iv) Shown merit and ability as reflected in work performance and results.

Artisan II (Mechanical)

PSC Scale: PSC 4

1 Position

V/No: 21/2020

(a) Duties and Responsibilities

This is the entry and training grade for artisans. An officer at this level will be responsible for repairs and painting of buildings, plant and equipment under the guidance of a senior officer.

(b) Requirements for Appointment

For appointment to the grade of Artisan II, a candidate must have: –

(i) Kenya Certificate of Secondary Education (KCSE) mean grade D+ (plus) or its equivalent with at least a D (plain) in Mathematics, English, Physics and Kiswahili; and

(i) A certificate in Technical training from a recognized Institution.

Artisan II (Building Works – Masonry)

PSC Scale: PSC 4

1 Position

V/No: 22/2020

(a) Duties and Responsibilities

This is the entry and training grade for artisans. An officer at this level will be responsible for repairs and painting of buildings, plant and equipment under the guidance of a senior officer.

(b) Requirements for Appointment

For appointment to the grade of Artisan II, a candidate must have: –

(i) Kenya Certificate of Secondary Education (KCSE) mean grade D+ (plus) or its equivalent with at least a D (plain) in Mathematics, English, Physics and Kiswahili; and

(ii) A certificate in Technical training from a recognized Institution
