The Financial Reporting Centre (FRC) is a government agency created by the Proceeds of Crime and Anti-Money Laundering Act (POCAMLA) 2009, with the principal objective of identifying the proceeds of crime, combating money laundering, and fighting the financing of terrorism.
In order to enhance institutional capacity to deliver on its mandate, FRC is seeking to recruit qualified and competent personnel to fill the folowing position:
PRINCIPAL INTERNAL AUDITOR
FRC GRADE 4
ONE (1) POST
The Principal Internal Auditor will report to the Manager, Internal Audit.
Duties and Responsibilities:-
i. Developing audit strategies, policies and procedures;
ii. Ensuring audit strategies, policies and procedures are implemented;
iii. Preparing risk based annual audit plan for approval by the Audit & Risk Management Committee;
iv. Preparing audit reports to Management for implementation of recommended actions;
v. Evaluating the effectiveness and implementation progress of recommendations from internal and external audits;
vi. Preparing quarterly audit reports to the Audit and Risk Management Committee;
vii. Undertaking special audits/investigations;
viii. Identifying departmental targets;
ix. Developing of departmental work plans, programmes and budget;
x. Assisting in staff performance appraisal and identification of training needs in the department; and
xi. Mentoring and coaching of staff.
i. At least six (6) years of work experience in audit and assurance, three (3) of which must have been in a supervisory position;
ii. Bachelors’ Degree in either Accounting, Finance, Business Administration (Finance / Accounting option), or any other relevant qualification from a recognized institution;
iii. Certified Public Accountant of Kenya (K) qualification or its equivalent;
iv. Membership of ICPAK and in good standing;
v. Management course lasting at least four (4) weeks, or other professional audit certification, from a recognized institution will be an added advantage;
vi. Fulfill the requirements of Chapter Six of the Constitution of Kenya; and
vii. Must be a citizen of Kenya.
